šŸš‡Ā Canning Town šŸŗĀ Ā£4.00 Carlsberg A Friendly Backstreet Canning Town Local. Streeties is located in a quiet backstreet in the heart of Canning Town. The nearest Tube is Canning Town, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This pub started life as The Prince Alfred and was built in the late 19th century. The pub was renamed Streeties in the 1980’s after ex-landlord Bobby Street. This is a bright and airy compact one bar boozer that is immaculately clean. The servery is centrally located and stretches down the majority of the length of the bar. At the far left is a Pool Table, on the right hand side is a seating area with a large screen TV. One unusual addition to the fixtures and fittings is a bird cage. This is the home for the pub’s parrot Trevor, Trevor can be often seen around the pub keeping an eye on things. The beer selection was a full of mainstream brands including Guinness but no cask ales. I decided on a pint of Carlsberg, my pint was excellent, price point was great at only four quid a pint. I didn’t notice a food menu but there were plenty of bar snacks if you’re peckish. I arrived just after 12pm on a warm Saturday afternoon in September. There were a few locals sat around the bar having a chinwag whilst the Sheffield Utd v Everton game was on the TV. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed with a local pub feel. The service was great, the Lady who served me was welcoming and friendly. Since the 1970s, 53 pubs have closed in the E16 Royal Docks postcode area and thankfully @streetiespublichousee16 endures. This is a proper locals pub that is welcoming, friendly and offers a very reasonably priced well kept pint. Worth a visit when you’re in the area. ā„¹ļø Info correct on visiting 02.09.23

I'm revising my review as I think on my first visit a number of years ago I misunderstood the pub and it's importance within the local community. I really enjoyed my other visits and just recently met some very friendly locals. We had an interesting discussion about the history of the area. The prices are amazing and they have a great range of lagers including Stella which is one of my favourites . The parrot is a unique feature of the bar. I think I'll most likely be visiting more often considering my office isn't far. The bar lady that works on Sundays is super friendly and welcoming. We're losing more and more of London's original pubs and character so these places really need your support.

I was in this pub with my girlfriend last summer after a work event at ExCel. We always try to have a beer in proper pubs when we visit places. The event is happening again this year and it made me think about our visit to Streeties. It was about 17:00 on a Tuesday when we arrived. By the time we left we were doing tequila slammers with the locals. Absolutely love Streeties - places like this really matter. Can't wait to return for another 'Tequila Tuesday'.

Streeties has been my local now for over 14year. You won’t find another pub like this locally. It’s a proper friendly east end pub. They have lovely pictures on the wall of the past landlady and landlord. All the times I’ve been in streeties there’s alway a welcoming atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly the customers too always welcome new comers. In all these year the best thing about this pub it that freeze the glasses once they have been through the steriler twice so you are always guaranteed a nice cold pint. They are frosted and alway spotlessly clean I’ve never had to return a dirty glass as there never has been one. The latest newcomer to streeties is a lovely grey parrot whom had a really sad lonely life before. Everyone loves Trevor and he truly gets spoilt. He enjoys he morning and night flight around the pub when everyone has gone home and it’s just Trevor and his lovely rescuer marina. Trevor is very vocal and loves he’s new life. So if your in the east end area you will all be welcomed with a warm greeting and a nice cold pint out of a spotless clean frosted glass. Only one thing you won’t get food here as it’s not a restaurant just a good old...

Gem of a pub in London! Streeties must be the nearest traditional family run pub to the centre of London. It is situated in a residential area 2 mins walk from Canning Town tube station. We were recommended this pub while staying at the nearby Holiday inn. It has everything that a good pub should have, very hospitable hosts, a great range of beers to suit all tastes and very friendly and welcoming clientele. If you are looking for loud music and plush decor, this is not the pub for you, but Streeties has what a lot of pubs lack, a big character. Well done to Marina and Siobhan and family (and Trevor the Parrott) for creating a very homely pub in the centre of London. Looking forward to our next visit! Murphy Family. (Status Quo...
