La Dolce Vita — Restaurant in London

recently visited your location after a recommendation from a friend and made a special trip from Borehamwood—around 8 miles—specifically to try your ice cream. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the experience.

Upon arriving, I was informed that only four flavours could be tasted. While I understand the need for limits, when I politely asked to try just one more flavour because I was still unsure about my choice, the staff refused, stating it was not allowed. I found this very surprising and quite frustrating.

It feels unreasonable to expect someone to travel such a distance and then be denied a small extra sample that could help them decide what to purchase. Surely the goal is to help customers find something they’ll enjoy enough to buy—not to strictly ration tiny spoonfuls of ice cream.

Regrettably, this experience has left a bad impression, and I wouldn’t consider returning or recommending your place to others based on how this was handled.

I went to this shop after a really long time as I loved their ice cream during my pregnancy , the lady asked if I wanted a cover for the cups and I said no it should be fine at first but then I realised that I had quite a bit of walk so I said sorry I’d like to have the cover as I need to walk quite a bit to the car with it and she said its just that we’re quite busy today so if you can tell us before- it literally took her a second to get the cover and I felt she could’ve just smiled and said it’s ok as I was already apologising for having troubled her. There were probably no more than 5 or 6 people behind me, coming from london that’s not really very busy…but maybe it’s considered busy in Ruislip. Customer service is dreadful. The girl behind the counter put sprinkles and flake on the children’s ice cream without me asking and surprisingly charged me 80p for sprinkle topping on each ice cream. She done the same with flake!! She got rude and arrogant when I questioned her about it during payment. She was so obnoxious and loud the children were frightened and we left in a flash after being forced to pay for things I didn’t ask for. The ice cream had crystals which indicated it had been defrosted and frozen numerous times. Not a nice experience. There girl behind the counter who was wearing glasses and had tattoos seemed to think it’s ok to keep people waiting whilst she was having full blown conversations with others.
