Metro Italia — Restaurant in London

Disgraceful service from the 'manager'!! I'm not one to write a review, but the so called manager has no customer service skills and its a shame because the restaurant serves some tasty food. This so called manager was disrespectful, ill mannered and very aggressive towards us and I'd like for the owner to watch back the CCTV footage with the 'manager' so he could explain his actions. We went for a Birthday dinner to celebrate when one of the dishes we ordered turned up with the wrong ingredients. We asked for it to be changed and for some reason the manager showed his face raising and waving his hands around and said "it was a mistake and that's the end of that". There was no apology, no offer of replacing the food and even took the plate away. When we questioned his managerial and customer service skills, he replied full of arrogance "I've worked with Gordon Ramsey". He must have been having a bad day, either that or something was stuffed up his backside, nevertheless the man lacks people skills let alone customer service skills. Solely because of this 'manager' I've given this restaurant a 1 STAR, as he ruined the whole...

We had come to Ruislip to find somewhere to eat, and saw Metro Italia across the road.

On entering, there was a welcoming ambience. Romina was delightful and attentive. After bringing the menus, and drinks she was enthusiastic regarding various choices.

I like Spaghetti Bolognese, so that was my choice. It was delicious and cooked with just the right amount of bite and spice and very moreish, and I was pleasantly full on finishing it. My brother had the Penne Pollo ( of which I took the leftovers home) my mother the salmon, and her friend the Fettuccine Salome e Vodka

All the dishes were simple and beautifully presented.

The portions sizes are excellent, so much so, that microwavable containers were provided to take the leftovers home.

My mother and her friend decided to share a dessert, which looked very tempting but unfortunately I had no room. I will definitely return one afternoon for salad, dessert and tea.

Romina bought some wonderful amoretti biscuits at the end of our meal.

The Chef was both charming and friendly. I highly recommend Metro Italia and it is now on my go to list of restaurants to suggest...

I have already hand-written a 2 page letter to the manager and when no reply came, I e-mailed the manager about our horrible experience early in March. I said that I wanted him to know about it before I put it on review. However, not hearing a word from him or answering my e-mail, here I go!

We arrived to celebrate my birthday....with a diabetic husband and also 2 small children included in our party of 7. It took quite a while before our order was taken.....AFTER AN HOUR, we inquired as to where our order was.....Our waited went and "checked" and we were told that it had been placed in the kitchen underneath some plates and the chef had just found it!!!! We were given "complimentary" pizza slices.....after another hour, our food eventually arrived!!!! As we were leaving, the waiter said "It was the chef's fault, you really didn't have to wait long and the food was fresh"! ....not one apology given....my e-mails, letter unanswered.....
