The owner has created a friendly neighbourhood spot where customers can fall into chatting with each other. I met retired school teachers from the neighbourhood, Persian brothers visiting from Manchester, a single female traveller from Poland. In a pretty grimy and dodgy area this lovely cafe is a sanctuary. There is soft piano jazz playing. The lady who served me was smiley and friendly without being fake (in itself quite unusual in London). The sandwich was well priced and tasty at £7 and served warm with a nicely dressed salad. The Americano was good and served with milk on the side in a glass not just a self service jug.
