I have wanted to visit this place since it opened and we finally went for a night out together this week.
Firstly, I thought the atmosphere was nice and welcoming unfortunately this is the only real positive I came away with.
The wine menu is extensive, however the cheapest bottles come in around £27-30 or £7-8 for a 125ml glass. As for the food, we tried 5 different dishes, each of them I found to be bland in flavour, the predominant taste from each dish was salt as it seemed to be over seasoned. I don’t know if this is someone with a heavy hand in the kitchen or a deliberate attempt to mask the distinct lack of any depth of flavour. I found the chicken thighs in particular to be greasy and near inedible due to the salt.
After the disappointing, overpriced and lacklustre food I didn’t even want to bother with a dessert (my favourite part of a meal!). However I did notice the ice cream for £4.75 “(1 scoop)” and had to smile as that sums up the place.
Not once did any of the staff ask how the food was or whether we’d enjoyed the meal. As a result we paid the bill and left without tip. Total of £69 for two people even with a bottle of wine felt like a somewhat rough deal given the quality of food.
There are plenty of other places on Stroud green road and crouch end to eat. Pizzeria Pappagone just up the road is very good value for money. Something La Fabrica...
Read moreAppalling service. Disgusting tables and tacky plating. The music clashed with different sections of the restaurant and they had constantly flashing Christmas lights and intrusive decorations that distracted from my meal.
We ordered a platter for £32 and it was barely enough for one let alone 2 people. I've had plates of food stacked higher for a fraction of the price. One could argue that the quality of the food should indicate the price, however this would only support my argument. Different parts of the platter were varying drastically in temperature. Our meatball dish was warm while he rest of our meat was cold and dry.
This doesn't even take into account our service. I told the manager I had an allergy and he slammed a cutting board into my wife's nose. I wasn't too sad because I was hoping she'd get some work done soon and frankly it ended up looking better. My main qualm was that they took me outside and shot me in the kneecaps after I said kaysedilla wrong - idk how to spell it, also one of the reasons they shot me.
I just wanted to write this review to say finish your friggin job next time also I'm sorry for leaving without paying I can come and drop my son...
Read moreI came here with 3 other friends and we had a wonderful time. We ordered about 2 dishes each and shared the dishes out between us. Not one dish disappointed, each dish was just as delicious as it was described on the menu. I definitely recommend getting a selection of veg, meat and seafood to balance the meal out and to ensure you’re not missing out on what this restaurant does best, authentic Spanish tapas.
The Chorizo al vino (chorizo in red wine sauce) and the Gambas (prawns in a garlic and chilli sauce) stood out for me in particular, unbelievably moorish and YOU HAVE to make sure you order a side of bread just to dip and soak in those sauces- UNREAL.
The staff were super friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable on both the wine and food menu. The ambience at La Fabrica provides both a place where you can come to unwind but also one where you can come with friends to have a great start to a night out.
An absolute gem in the heart of crouch end, will definitely be looking forward to...
