The staff were really nice. The bars look gorgeous. Logistic-wise, the whole set up doesn't work for me. I'm stressed out. We got last minute tickets and I can't even sit side by side with my mother to share any drinks or food on the tiny table without looking at each other. The seating was not nice to wait so we just want to chill in the bars, but they made it impossible to order any food within 30 mins and worry about not finishing it and unable to take it in.
Boy, I'm so glad, we didn't order any food. The food came in high tea stacking, but the choice is just not shareable with a shared seating with another couple. With the pillow fight, fluff or confitti or bubbles get into your drinks. Luckily this doesn't struggle my allergy or my mom coughing, but the girl next to me choke and had to abandon her half drunk drink to buy a fresh one and the glasses broke in table behind us/washed the pillow hit it, mom nearly stepped on a broken glasses on her rush to the toilet during an intermission, and it's all gender toilet not a usual thing for an elderly lady from another part of the world. Plus in the cubicle she went in, the lock is broken, so she had to use her leg to stop guys from pushing in her door. Please fix your lock if it's gender neutral toilet!
The show is too French for my liking. It's kind of propaganda that French things are sexy. Colonial power love to craft their image. The whole Postmodernism, I hate that. Postmodernist destroyed all the goodness and meaning of this world. It is not arts, it has no new idea and it has nothing to say nor meaning. Didn't realise that I tolerated that.
I've seen many cabaret shows, circuses, burlesque and drag combined in many places, but when you think the singer is the best act of all, that's a worry. Not that the casts are not talented, they are, but the acts were just a glittery mess, downgrading to their talent.
I get it, you are focusing on audience participation, but the constant cutting of music between genres to cut scenes around the space, or even in the one dance or one body contortion act, cheapen the show. I can't feel any connection to the "performance", not appreciating the arts, but instead, feel like I'm in a robot chicken with tape on my eyelids. The fact that I can't see my mom behind me to know if she actually found any of dirty jokes entertaining, doesn't help. She has to rush out, not buying anything from the bar because she rather go to a toilet in kings Cross station. Plus we were starving.
Pity. I've seen so many cabaret/circus/burlesque shows that I walked away thinking wow everyone was so skilled, passionate about their arts and gifted, but not this one. I want my mom to experience that, and I'm so sad. There's a lot of fluff for a stag or hen nights, but not artistic or creative, it's aiming for shock values, including the music and spotlight edit. Even Zelenskyy had similar act in the ad before Kolomoisky gave him the presidential gigs. Drag shows generally had more wit and intellect than this. And the ending.. Can we get someone who can actually sabrage with real sword and pop? What an ejaculatio praecox, like most of v the jokes and acts, what came out is not glitter, but it's sure stick on our clothes. Totally cheap shots.
I won't recommend the show. Sorry, this is not about the venue, but because of the logistics and the design of show, I just can't enjoy the space...
Read moreThis is a small new music venue that seems to have been designed specifically for intimate concerts. I think everyone will get a good view and the sound was great (Mattiel was back for her 2nd UK tour.) I have no idea where they put the sound desk or lighting team, but it was loud, good sound and an impressive light show (but I did get fed up with spots shining directly in my face every few minutes - you just have to close your eyes.) The website claims 600 capacity, but that would surely be a rammed as active train in rush hour!! I think it will be a great place for smaller bands and I'm keeping my eye on their upcoming events. About the venue: When you get there, you go downstairs to get to the main floor in front of the stage. Don't worry about the queue for the bar - there's another one on the far side of the stage (& another one upstairs.) Upstairs (i.e. on the entrance level) is the "Auditorium" or balcony. I think you will get a great view and the 3 tiers with rails separating them means it's not too crowded, but you won't get the same experience as being really close to the performers on stage downstairs. Other hints: toilets seem to be unisex cubicles hidden in the dark behind the balcony. Not only are there no signs, but the first three staff I asked didn't know where they were! When you're leaving after the show, keep right or you'll find yourself in the merchandise queue (by the first bar on the way in.) They really need to get some more space for this - why not in the...

I usually like this venue. It’s great for music. The food and drink are good and it has a nice vibe.
The staff here today have messed up massively despite us pointing out their mess and then they refused to fix their mess
I came here for a concert on Wednesday 23rd august. I got here at 1700. I was 10th in the queue. Everyone was happy in the line outside. Some had been queueing outside since 1400 hours.
Then the stupidness happened. At 1840, 1 female member of staff said you can come inside now for a drink, but not to the concert hall down’s stairs. She went on to say that we couldn’t queue up inside.
We asked if they would be scanned in before the line then? To which this lady said yes. So then a lot of people including those who just turned up went inside and queued by the door.
The staff then refused to clean up their mess and some even commented about their colleague saying she shouldn’t have done that.
This resulted in a queue happening inside and causing blockages everywhere and lots of Mickey takers took advantage of this situation.
What a mess. For people who do this often this embarrassing...
