The term "hidden gem" is probably overused, but it definitely is not an hyperbole for this little cafe', tucked away on a side road of the "getting-there-but-still-not-fashionable" Holloway Rd. Yet, when I asked for North London food places recommendations on Twitter, many locals indipendently recommended it...I saw the reason for myself. Le Peche Mignon is a blend between the typical French deli (think larder stocked with speciality cheeses and charcuterie) and a modern cafe' with a very homely feeling (think raw wooden tables and Technicolor chairs). It also has a lovely walled garden at the back where to have your coffee and food. Oh, the food! Both the sweet and savoury offering is excellent - I tried both during my visits - and a special mention is for the Croque Monsieur...yes, a glorified version of cheese on toast CAN be that good....
Read moreI’m a regular at this cute little French deli because it’s one of those places that is consistently delicious, and I like to see the friendly faces that I’m familiar with. I love everything about it, but especially that I never get bored of having lunches from here and going to Highbury Fields/sitting at the bench in front to people watch.
