I came to Le Querce with my mother who has coeliac disease meaning she cannot eat gluten without it causing her significant discomfort and pain. This usually means that finding reliable, good quality italian food comes with great difficulty and she rarely gets to eat it at restaurants. Le Querce accomodate well for gluten-free options, allowing all pasta dishes to be ordered as gluten free should you choose. The food we had was extremely high quality, fresh, and well prepared. I had the Buratta starter, my mother the aubergine parmigiana, and we both had the beef ragu main, each accompanied by a glass of red wine. The wine was dry, tasty, and well priced The atmosphere and service at Le Querce was top class, attentive staff ensured your needs were met and the room was adorned with colourful decorations.

We had such a fabulous meal back at le Querce tonight. It’s been a couple of years since we came, even though we live locally, and it’s as good as it ever was. We started with the burrata, caponata and nduja, along with the bread, Parma ham and grilled pecorino. Both exquisite. The handmade samphire pappardelle with prawn and nduja was divine, and it was a very generous portion of sea bass with crushed potatoes, cooked to perfection. For dessert the pear frangipane was excellent but the highlight was the homemade ice cream and sorbet. The chilli ice cream was good enough to write home about. Our kids each polished off a pizza, which were also top notch.

Lovely meal! Great service and lovely chilled atmosphere. Highly reccomend this lovely restaurant! We had the cream cheese Sardinia bread (carasau bread), the burrata, ravioli, steak, and Samphire prawn and nduja pappardelle. And for desert we had the chocolate cake, lemon sorbet, berry , pumpkin and amaretto, and rhubarb ice cream. All Devine!!! Thank you for a lovely meal!

I’ve been a regular ordering snacks for takeaway for the past two years. Didn’t really go to their restaurant because their course menu looked a bit pricey, until a few months ago. I decided to try their pizza menu with a friend. Their pizzas are reasonable - £9-13. we both got pizzas and then we got a starter and then a dessert to share. The starters and desserts are £6-8 on the à la carte menu. To my surprise, they charged us for one set menu for £38 and a pizza, which was far more than either of us were expecting. They said that if I order a side and a dessert then it turns into a set menu. They claimed that they explained this to us when we ordered the starter, but this was not explained and more over, if you order it to take it away, it’s only around £7 and likewise with the , so we were expecting them to add around 14 or £15 to the pizza, not £29. In addition, if you look at their offerings on the set menu items, they offer things like steak and fish with the entree costing around £25-30 In other restaurants- nowhere near the price of a pizza, so I felt to charge £38 because we split a starter and a dessert felt a bit cheeky and unfair, especially since they never told us they would do this. I tried to explain that if you subtract the cost of the pizza from £38 (I only ordered the cheapest one which was a margherita for £9), the starter and dessert together would cost £29- each one averaging more than the cost of pizza, which just makes no sense.

However, despite being a regular (takeaway person), the owner? (older guy with glasses) was rude and completely inflexible. I do not understand how a margarita pizza and a side and dessert could reasonably amount to charging us close to £40. I’ve made my own pizzas before and I understand it’s a restaurant that needs to make money but the total cost of materials is less than £5. But moreover, it just doesn’t make logical sense to charge £40 for pizza (£9) and starter (£7-9) dessert (£7-10) (max total:28). You have a separate pizza menu because you recognise that the price points are different so to charge the same as a steak meal just because we decided to order one starter and one dessert to split is ridiculous. The cost annoyed me especially because I rarely eat out these days, but what annoyed me even even more was the attitude of the owner. Completely unreasonable inflexible and obstinate. Not to mention unfriendly. Well, he has lost my business. Never returning. Attitude is...

I went here today for the first time with my wife and 5 year old son in the recommendation of a friend. We live in East Dulwich and normally go to Artusi for our fix of Italian cuisine outside of central London.

From the moment you walk in to this family run Sardian restaurant you are made to made very welcome by Roberto and his team. Nothing too much trouble, even for our very tired and very finicky eater of a 5 year old. The menu is extensive with a great reange of anti pasti, past, meat and fish dishes and dolce, particularly good sorbet and gelato.

My son and wife went for pasta with the beef Ragu. Both plates were clean which is saying something as my 5 year old doesn’t really eat very much. I had calves liver with caramelised onions on a bed of spinach. Claves liver cooked perfectly pink and delicious. Side of zucchini infused with garlic equally delicious. Lemon sorbet for Phelix, demolished, and really interesting cheese board and dessert wines shared by the grown ups and equally delicious and finished.

Apart from the food being top quality the best thing about the restaurant are the super and particularly child friendly staff. Can’t recommend highly enough if you want a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere with kids or without.

Will be back soon

Terence,...

We live locally and have fallen in love with Le Querce throughout these lockdowns. Perfect for fresh pasta, fresh fish and other lunch and deli treats. They’re also now delivering meals to home and last night we had an absolutely superb four-course birthday dinner arranged by my husband that catered to my allergy needs (soya, egg and dairy free) and it was all totally delicious - scallops, samphire, sardines, beef ragu, duck breast and lentils with crushed potatoes, and chocolate torte and orange sorbet. All executed beautifully! Such a wonderful wonderful treat and the staff and chef are always so accommodating. Cannot recommend highly enough. Made my lockdown birthday just as special as a real one. Thank you! Hope to make it a regular spot for us once normality returns. In the meantime enjoying all their...
