Really lovely service from the lady boss. She had a very polite, courteous and friendly manner. Very small but clean restaurant (just 2 x table for 4 people and 3 x table for 2 people).
We had a laksa, a pork chop rice, a hainanese chicken, beancurd roll.
All good flavours. If I was to be picky then I would say the Laksa (beautiful broth) could have been hotter. I think that possibly they make it not hot so customers can eat quickly and go?
The pork chop rice was lovely and tomatoey and cheesey but i thought the pork itself was too tenderised with too much soda. Still tasty but the texture was just too strange for me (a Brit who was bought up on good quality naturally tender meats).
The hainanese chicken was delicious (my favourite dish), very tender. Lovely sauces. The rice was a bit too dry for me. Didn't seem like it had been cooked in the chicken broth/oil. Tasted like plain steamed fragrant rice to me.
I wanted the pork knuckle noodle but sadly they didn't have any available.
The beancurd rolls were great. Nice crisp exterior and nice bouncy texture inside. I enjoyed it!
Don't get the redbean frappe... very little red beans in the drink.
Portions in general were quite small (apart from the pork chop rice). It was just right for me but my husband could have eaten 2 laksas for himself! Men (or women) with bigger appetites might not be fully satisfied if having just one dish.
All in all, I will return if I am ever in the area ...I still want to try the pork knuckle noodles!
Update: Just reading reviews and deciding on whether to go again for lunch today... I noticed a reviewer below saying... "Also by LAW the restaurant must provide FREE drinking water…. This place won’t give you tap water and makes you PAY for bottle water. This is not right." ... erm...no...YOU are not right! Only licensed premises serving alcohol have to provide free tap water. Non licensed restaurants do not need to provide free tap water. Please be careful about giving false information and causing trouble for businesses. Little Nonya have the right to charge for tap water if they wished to but also has the right to just provide bottled water only. It's...
Read moreThis place has a lot of hype and there was a queue of Chinese people to eat in. We finally got a table and were able to peruse the menu. Aside from the side dishes there are 5 main courses so the menu is limited. We ordered 3 main dishes: the signature laksa, the hainan chicken with rice and the baked pork chop. We also ordered the fried fish bean curd roll. Bearing in mind we were sitting in, there were wooden throwaway chopsticks, no napkins, the pork dish was placed in a foil takeaway container and the sauces were in the disposable dip cups in which you couldn’t even dip your fried roll etc as the “dip cup” was so teeny tiny.
I had high hopes for this place because of the hype, the queue for tables and the limited menu so I was thinking the 5 mains would be of high quality…. The laksa was lacking in flavour and depth and there were two types of noodle in the laksa dish (why is this?)……, the hainan chicken wasn’t tender and the rice wasn’t the “oily” seasoned rice.. it was just plain rice and the pork dish .. the pork wasn’t seasoned enough and was tough. Only the side dish was ok.
Unfortunately, the food needs improvement, was expensive for what it was and the portions small. If you want to queue for this place.. go queue somewhere else or go to London as the dishes are the same price as London prices £14 per main.

We went in and ordered Hainanese chicken. Then I smelled this sweet but not overpowering aroma in the background and realised it was their signature laksa. Had to try.
When it came, there were 3 big prawns amongst other ingredients. Very generous portions indeed. Fish balls and tofu pockets cut into perfect halves. Everything presented in lovely arrangements.
The dish, though perhaps regarded as a street food or everyday food, felt more like fine dining. Sauce was smooth and delicate; one can feel the patience and tender loving care that the artist cook has put inside.
2 kinds of noodles given instead of just 1.
And the taste? Sooo delicious. Need to see and try to appreciate.
Parking? I overheard the lady owner saying all spaces around the little eatery are free either for 2 hours or all day. I shall let you the reader confirm.
Talk about hospitality. The owners were very polite but not forcing it on anyone. Always gentle and ready to serve.
Seating? You will get a seat if you are lucky!
Well, go for...
