We went here to meet my dad and a couple of our mutual friends and my partner who has had stage 2 lymphoma (cancer) was wearing a lanyard and so was in the smoking area wearing a coat zipped up covering it. The bar maid whos name is Sarah who saw the lanyard when we came in took it apon herself to single him out in front of other people and told him it had to be on show which as a 24 year old who has had cancer he is very self conscious and was ofcourse upset by this. The government website says you do not have to even wear a lanyard and that you do not have to disclose your medical reason for being exempt and you are not allowed to be questioned about it because its private.... well not in this pub! Barmaid made it her business when its not and her attitude about it was disgusting. We will not be returning to this pub and I urge others with medical conditions not to either!

By the way he dosent even know iv written this review so this is solely based on what I witnessed and what Sarah said to me when she returned from the smoking area so trying to deny it now when it was a direct conversation with me not him is pathetic. Has nothing to do with his memory and you coming back with a response like that to a review just shows how...

Eventually a local walked in who joined our conversation and it was only then that we realised we had been there much longer than intended - but much enjoyed regardless. So a small island bar as you enter with some picnic tables out the front of this beautiful building (a quick snippet from the interweb: The Nightingale pub, Carshalton Rd, Sutton, London. The pub was built in 1854 on the corner of Lind Road and was named the Jenny Lind, after the famous Swedish opera singer Johanna Maria Lind, who was visiting friends in the area in 1847 and enchanted locals with her singing) as well as a well laid out beer garden in the rear. Charming place to wile away the day. The Surrey Hills Brewery Shere Drop was fantastic apparently as was...

There is also a great variety of live music on offer which, at the moment, is on a ticket only basis. Once restrictions lift, the place is usually filled with music lovers who love to dance and enjoy the...
