From a recent trip to Porto I had this dish and was blown away by the amount of flavours involved. So I needed to see if this dish , francesinha could be replicated in England . Yes it can ! This version I had here was virtually the same. The egg on top in Porto was somehow melted into the cheese instead of being placed on top . But the steak here was much more succulent and tender than Porto . The sauce is the key factor of this dish and is truly unique and made from beer , spirits and tomatoes. I really wanted to have a sandwich and found this shop nearby, as soon as I walked in they recommended me a few sandwich options and I ended up going with the chicken escalope especial. It was absolutely delicious, and such a big sandwich. It’s very soft and very moist, there was no sauce needed.
