Went to The Nags Head on Saturday 30th November, for our Christmas get together, there were about 15 of us, we pre booked our food from the Christmas menu, good value at 3 courses for £22, when we got there the table was laid out lovely with Christmas crackers and napkins on it,couldn't fault that at all,it's when the food came out that the disappointment came! I had chicken strips for starter, and it came with cranberry dressing which I asked for them not to put on, but it was covered, I did tell the server that I asked for it plain,to which I got a shrug of the shoulders, so didn't eat that, others had Prawn cocktail which they said was nice, and a soup which was ok, then the mains I ordered Christmas dinner as I didn't think you could get that very wrong but I was proved wrong! Well the gravy was in a little boat but you could slice it, potatoes were like boiled potatoes not roasted for long enough, turkey was compacted meat yuck! And the Yorkshire pudding you could of hammered in nails with it, it was so hard, Luke warm vegetarian, and a parsnip that looked like it was made out of rubber. I didn't eat a single bit! Others had steak which they said was ok but the peppercorn sauce was also too thick to pour like it had been hanging around. Pudding was ice cream so couldn't go wrong with that really. Overall the food was very disappointing. The drink prices were reasonable, and there was a dj, so you can have a dance.

My brother passed away recently & we had his after burial refreshments yesterday. I wanted to book the Nags Head as it was his favourite place. As you can imagine it is a very stressful time, but I met Artur & his team and they assured me it would be fine & they would look after me. Wow did they look after me! The area was cordoned off for us, and we had so much attention from the bar staff. The food came out and it was magnificent. There was ample food & Ive had so many messages from friends of the family who were there saying how impressed they were at the send off my brother was given. A friend of my brother plays the bagpipes & was allowed to play a tribute to him. It was incredible. I want to thank Artur, Morgan, Sophie & Gerri (apologies if the spelling is wrong & if I’ve forgotten anyone) from the bottom of my heart. Yesterday was perfect & a sad time made special by your kindness & class. I’ve had sleepless nights for weeks over this, but I can sleep well now. Yesterday was a beautiful send off for my brother, in his favourite pub. As a family, we couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks again x

I often Pop into the Nags Head when in the area visiting family. Been here a few times since early this year, the pub has been renovated and looks smart. The food (pub grub) is generally good and the staff are friendly. A great place to go on your own and/or you want to watch sports. However on this visit (Monday) the cook didn't know how to cook a medium rare Sirloin steak I ordered. The steak was lower grade (utility cut). Maybe stick to ordering pub style grub and burgers instead. Beer on tap is Ok. Greene King bottle. beers available.

Hello, I enjoy going to this establishment and its always been a very nice place, but tonight I have been put off and actually quite upset. I was enjoying a meal and a drink on Sunday 27/08/17 initially with my family and then with friends. Later on in the evening I decided to use the restroom. When entering the stall I noticed one payne of glass was completely transparent which I thought was strange and a bit concerning. Then while I was urinating a face appeared at the glass looking directly at my 'private parts'. To which i was shocked and ended up urinating on my leg. I thought initially it was a stupid passer-by but I was wrong. When leaving the stall to wash my hands a security gaurd approached me asking me to go outside, which I agreed. When in the entrance they began searching me not explaining why. Ofcourse they didnt find anything to which one gaurd was frustrated with and went searching the cubical. While he was doing that the other was telling me that they already have caught people that evening with drugs. When the other gaurd returned he said I had a white packet. Then I was given the all clear WITH NO APOLOGY... I understand the reasons behind this but this is a complete invasion of my privacy to which i am most upset and shocked. I am prepared to take this higher and I would like this passed on to the Greene King head office as I am completely discusted and would like this resolved as this is a huge concern. I understand at the age of 20 I am a 'potential threat' to your staff but I do not expect to be looked apon especially by your staff in such a crude manor. I hope that you will take this seriously and will let me know of the follow up actions you will take...
