We live 2 minutes up the road. We’ve never actually eaten inside the restaurant but used to get it delivered regularly. It started getting progressively worse, so we said that we’d never order here again unfortunately. The popadoms often taste not very nice and are inedible, you can tell it’s the oil they’ve been cooked in, it’s obviously been reused multiple times and gives the popadoms a nasty flavour. The amount of chicken you get in the chicken dishes is far too small. I’m female and can’t eat a huge amount and it’s not even enough for me let alone a hungry man! And the final straw was they stopped peeling their potatoes for the bombay aloo, so they now come with skin on, obviously to save themselves time but I personally think it ruins them. Read moreWell you get used to Indian restaurants all being much the same, but at Mahirah they have broken the mould and the difference is in their service. We were greeted well, but rather than being left to peruse the menu, were intuitively offered poppadoms and of course beers (two blokes out for an Indian, how did they guess). After ordering we were left to chat over our poppadoms and pickles (5 beautifully different ones) and quietly advised when our main course was ready, but also encouraged not to rush, but to let them know when we were ready; this was a really nice touch. As usual too much food was ordered but all the leftovers were taken home and eaten for breakfast the next day, suffice to say my guests enjoyed this experience.
I have ordered several deliveries from Mahirah which have been excellent hence my reason for booking a table here; I wasn't disappointed with the food or the service.
