Manuels — Restaurant in London

We were going to buy tart. So my kid touched the foil part.My kid did touch tart like M&S bakery because he want buy that one . But manager shouted to kid very loudly. So I told him that we are very sorry and we were just going to buy this. And the manager shouted at us again that we are not allow to do that. We were very embarrassed. There was no warrning that we are not allow to touch.My kid didnt speak anything quite a while. He was a visitor and he was so shocked at the service that Manuels did it to him. He was so shocked because he just touched the foil part. Every one in the bakery watched us. Ofcourse I didnt know the rules at the bakery. We thought we need to take it to the desk to buy it. It was first time to visit at the bakery. Manuels is famously known in New Malden. So we went there but we were so shocked at the service that manager did it to customers. After we bought the tart, we thought that issue wasn't very big problem that manager needed to shout at us. The first thing that we hear in that bakery was "Don't touch that" rather than hello. AWFUL customer service and very unwelcoming. The man that runs the shop is so unbelievably rude with no interpersonal skills at all. He does not know he to speak to customers. He was very snappy and abrupt, acting as if he is busy, when he had two customers. We ended up leaving before getting our food because of his immature and hostile attitude. Very bitter person who obviously has a lot of issues that he reflects poorly onto his business. AVOID THIS PLACE. IN REGARDS TO THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER: Also my mask had just broken and I explained this to him; however, he continued speak to us in a rude and disgusting manner instead of just asking professionally and politely. I pass Manuels every day on the bus, each time I think 🤔 must go in and buy something as the food looks fresh and appealing. Today I was passing with my daughter and we stopped by and bought a chocolate cornflake cupcake and two ice cream 🍦 made out of marshmallow rice crisppe topped with hundreds and thousands. Sounds great dosnt it but very disappointed they looked fresh but they weren't they tasted gone off and stale. Notsure how long ago they were made. If your planning to buy for the kids don't bother both my ones had one bite and said " it doesn't taste nice" my cornflakes cupcake also tasted gross what a waste of £5.70.
