Melucci's Italian Deli — Restaurant in London

We have always been big fans of this place and been very impressed when we ate here, but we recently tried Melucci’s catering service for a party and wanted to leave a review for that.

We ordered six of their boxes, three of sandwiches and three selection boxes. It was very easy to place the order with Maria via Instagram and she was very helpful in suggesting what might be suitable.

All of our boxes were ordered as vegan with one also being gluten free and Maria put a great deal of effort into ensuring that these dietary requirements were met but also that the selections were interesting and varied. All of the food was delicious and well presented, with some really interesting and inventive flavour combinations, particularly with the sandwiches. Vegan food can sometimes be a bit repetitive but Maria was very creative and ensured that we had a really good selection of items to choose from. All of our guests commented on how tasty the food was. The portions were also very generous and we had plenty of food for everyone, with a fair bit leftover as well.

The food was ready on time and pickup was very quick. We also felt the price of the food was good considering the quality and effort that had clearly gone into it.

It was extremely busy so assumed it was a good little deli to grab lunch. Upon entering it was so busy you could barely move in there and it feels very cluttered and tight. They certainly need a bigger store. The waitress was lovely and very attentive and gave a list of the specials. The food arrived quickly. My only issue was the lack of cheese in my ciabatta, there were egg shells in my chicken milanese that it put me off because I kept crunching on shell. The ciabatta itself was nice but not enough filling and the side salad felt like it was made a few days ago the lettuce was browning on the sides. Due to the egg shell (textural issue for me) I wouldn't return as it puts me off instantly. Went into the shop on Saturday morning for some cold meats etc

Very busy with people having coffee and breakfast or lunch - more of a cafe than a deli however the meats I bought were very good and tasty even if a little expensive

The pots they served the olives and other vegetables in for take away were poor quality and leaked the olive oil sob fridge swimming in it - it's a shame as this then allowed the vegetables to dry out and we're not great

The olives and sun dried tomatoes were good through

They have a fair selection of biscuits pasta and other good quality produce for sale

Friendly staff

You could almost be in Italy with the chaotic manner of service - but good and fun

Will try food next (they do day time food and evening meals on 2 or 3 nights a week) and hope to increase rating from 3 to 5 stars...
