To say disappointment would be a huge understatement. From the very start of what was meant to be a nice meal out with my partner; it turned into a culinary disaster. To begin with, both my partner and I requested tap water - the waiter; whom I presume is also the restaurant owner, decided for himself we would be better off with a bottle of still water instead and rushed to open and pour it before we could state this was not what we asked for. To the starter. The start of a downhill slope of overcooked and bland food. The duck salad was cooked so much it was bordering on cremated and will likely need scattering in my toilet later. My partner had a buffalo mozzarella which was 3 slices of mozzarella that tasted like they had been sat in a lukewarm fridge for the year and bought in nearest Tesco express for no more than £1. Moving on to the main course of this catastrophe of a dinner. I ordered the „Juicy Lucy” burger. Lucy had an amazing magic trick. She was burnt to a crisp on the outside but raw pink in the middle. The other main dish ordered was the Kleftiko. I would say klefti-no. The lamb was overcooked, the veg was raw and hard..hardly edible. The sauce tasted like it had been made last Christmas and been sat in a tin somewhere since. When it came out so much oil had separated from the sauce soaking raw/hard veg with oil. Not pleasant. If the food was bad; the service was worse. With juicy Lucy being sent back to the kitchen(back to the microwave is what it sounded like) a near 40min wait for a new one meant what was meant to be a nice date evening had my partner eating and chewing tough lamb meat for hours while I was sat twiddling my thumbs. At no point did the server ask if my partners food was ok(which it wasn’t and he left 75% of it) or if we wanted anything else while waiting. He even rushed to keep us there when we threatened to leave ensuring the new burger was coming soon. Adding service charge was the final nail in the coffin of this disaster of meal. There seemed to be no sense of pride or desire from staff, I know I would be embarrassed if someone returned something clearly raw but this was brushed off quickly. We left in a hurry and will definitely not be returning any time soon. I suggest you all give juicy Lucy and the Bexley kitchen a swerve. I do not understand how somewhere with such awful food, horrible decor (wallpaper coming off the wall) and the resident flies can lead to this place having such a high rating. Overpriced and overhyped. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We had a most sumptuous Sunday roast dinner and a good helping, also the gravy was very delicious(which I would not normally comment on). The meat/ fish and the accompaniments were so delicious, further complimented by the wonderful service we received and a complimentary drink afterwards, which leads to satisfying end

Is like a half American half Mediterranean menu. My partner had the monk fish, the flavours were really nice! I had the lamb chops super tender, and the mint sauce was up there! I also recommend the mushrooms to start. Very good! Staff were attentive and kind. Was overall a good experience! Highly recommend.

Have been here a few times as their Set Menu is usually great. However, the last time we went we were disappointed as they had reduced the choices on the Set Menu. We decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and went for lunch today, we referred to the Menu on the website.

When we got there the Menu was nothing like the one advertised on the website. I ordered the prawn salad which was a bowl of shredded iceberg, lots of it, a small ( maybe tablespoon) of defrosted tiny prawns and pre grated parmasan and balsamic vinegar. No olive oil no seasoning nothing, very bland. My partner chose soup of the day which was tomato soup, I recall that it's always tomato soup. He said it was identical to Heinz canned tomato soup and left half of it. I asked for some bread to accompany my salad as there was no real substance to it and got grilled plain pitta bread.

Main course was nice enough, however when the bill came I was shocked to see that the lunch price has gone up from £10.95 to £12.95 not what was stated on the website. Was charged £3 for pitta bread too! 3 glasses of coke, £42, not a cheap lunch for what it was.

Disappointed won't be...

Cosy, friendly, exceptional food, superb value, wonderful service, a real gem. We were a party of 8 on a Wednesday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crispy duck salad was so delicious I wished I could have it again for main course and the triple cooked chips were spectacular. The only downside were the burgers which were flame grilled and not to everyone’s taste, but the staff were lovely, provided another burger, didn’t charge for the whole dish and gave a free dessert. We were hugely impressed and will definitely be...
