Came here Easter Sunday for bottomless brunch with some friends, 3 of them were drinking and 2 of us weren’t. I’d called up to check that the alcohol free version was £25 even on Easter Sunday (as they were doing an even more expensive “Easter price” of £55 because there was a DJ present, the DJ was a bored looking bloke with his laptop) and they said that it was £25 still for the alcohol free version.

When we got there, they told us that we were all being “automatically upgraded” to £55. When my friend and I went outside to call and see if we could get lunch elsewhere, as we weren’t going to pay £55 for 2 very small courses and some juice, they said they’d “honour the price” of £25.

The place was pretty empty, so I imagine they really needed to squeeze money out of that Easter Sunday.

Friends cocktails were really watered down, courses were tiny and very average tasting. Iced Tea was decent.

Nothing special, I’d like to try their food on a normal day as I have heard good things, but this experience has put me right off.

Always have a lovely night in the Taynard. However, last night I went outside to have a cigarette, when I went to come back inside, the security guard would not let me back in and said I hadn’t been in there. I said my two friends were inside and why would I leave without my jacket and bag? He could clearly see I was on my own outside and would still not even let me back in to get my bag so I could get a cab home. Finally I got my friend’s attention through the window and she was able to get me my bag and coat. Next time if a young girl is stuck outside on her own before you refuse to let her in, you should at least check this with the other security guard/ staff who in the end confirmed I had been there all night or walk her in to get her coat, instead of leaving her outside with no way of contacting her friends, which was unsafe. Security guards should be there to make you feel safe and he was rude and seemed to be on a power trip refusing to let me in. This ruined a perfectly good night as I went home after, as did not feel comfortable going back in after I was rudely spoken to and left outside on my own...

Ordered via Deliveroo and paid almost £50 for 3 burgers and 1 portion of wings. It arrived in reasonable time but as soon as we got the paper bag through the door the bottom fell out and one of the burgers fell on the floor. We then discovered that none of the burgers had come with fries despite it clearly stating on the menu that they all came with them. I called them up and they couldn’t have been less helpful, apparently their burgers don’t come with fries you have to order them separately. So £16 for a burger & chips, the food’s okay but it’s nowhere near that good! I took a screen shot from Deliveroo that clearly says fries included. Apparently I should take it up with Deliveroo. Told them what happened with the bag, he scoffed as though I was lying and told me their bags are sturdy. More annoyed at their attitude than the fact they got the order wrong.
