Very disappointing. Plastic in food and till is rigged to overcharge on service charge.

Loved Meydans when it first opened a couple of years back, quality food and service. Haven’t been in a year - disappointing doesn’t even cut it. A piece of pink plastic found in the lamb Adana kebab. When I showed the manager she was apologetic and agreed to refund 50% of that kebab only. She said only 50% because there was also chicken shush in the kebab and since it was only the lamb Adana affected she would only remove the cost of the lamb proportion - fair enough. I ordered a child’s meal. There were 4 adults and 1 child. When ordering I asked the waitress if we could make sure the child’s meal could come first as he was hungry and she said that it would be fine. After waiting 30mins, the adults meals came but not the child’s. I asked the waitress twice where it was and she just kept telling me it was coming. Guess what - the child’s meal never turned up! Again I spoke with the manager and she apologised. So after this poor service I get the bill and they have added on service charge which I challenge and the waitress said she cannot remove it as the till automatically adds it on. I say fine and then look at the bill again - they receipt states a 10% service charge but it is more! I query this with the waitress and to make my point even get my calculator out to prove they are charging more than the stated 10%. She says she cannot do anything about it - I couldn’t be bothered to talk to the manager yet again as she was too busy shouting at her staff (reading some other reviews seems to be a...

Worst experience ever....

I was suspicious to begin with when there was not one single customer in this restaurant while a similar restaurant next door was packed.

First of all, they had none of the wines they had on the menu. The only wine they had was a house white wine. It was served WARM, in brandy glasses. We had to order some ice in a bucket in order to cool down the wine.

The waiter made some mistakes in our order, which happens sometimes, except we actually showed her the exact picture on the menu, so not too sure how she got grilled sausages and vegetable stew mixed up.

We were served dried up hummus by the manager herself. I could not believe my eyes.

When our mains arrived, there was a massive curly hair (that looked like body hair) on my chips. By this time I was already disgusted. I still tried the lamb chops which, to be fair, tasted good. But the hair thing was just too much and I could not finish my plate.

Then we paid the bill and realised we had been charged for 2 things we had not ordered.

The waiter apologised profusely but as I read the comments I see that this has happened often in that restaurant which makes me wonder....

I will never go back to this restaurant. I am still not sure how "body hair" land on your plate. Hygiene must be awful behind the scene....

Disgusting....

In a word.....awful. Ordered our meals and after 20mins we are told there’s no rice or chips to accompany the meat. I asked what the options were and was told.......”Um let me check. I don’t know, maybe salad”. Having already had a salad to start this wasn’t great and I was so close to leaving at that point. BUT then out of nowhere, and almost instantly, half my dish arrives- a plate of meat, brought without salad which I’m guessing the waiter forgot. Literally nothing else on the plate. How the waiter thought this would be a good idea to bring out is beyond me. The plate just looked so empty.....the sort of meal you’d pull together at the age of 14 after scraping through cupboards in desperation. 10minutes later (once the meat is cold) the salad arrives. Bravo. Then the bill comes and everything is still the same price. No apology and no acknowledgment that what we ordered hadn’t arrived. I think it blew the waiters mind when I mentioned this and said I wasn’t happy to pay the full price. By the way, I have NEVER done this before, it was just so bad I had to. Out comes the manager, rude and dismissive, she said she could take 10% off (£3.15). LOL
