If you would like to be spoken to rudely, ignored and made to feel unwelcome, then this is the place for you to visit.
I visited today (29/12/23) with some friends and felt uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. We were ignored initially and made to feel a nuisance for asking politely for a table. The member of staff shrugged her shoulders as if to say she didn’t know how long the wait would be. At this point, we were tempted to leave but as we had travelled to the location we thought we’d override our initial bad experience and wait to see what the food ect was like.
After 5 or so minutes waiting, we managed to get a table and asked one of the servers to wipe our table, she rolled her eyes at us and smacked her lips together. We didn’t understand this level of rudeness, we had spoken politely and in a gentle manner but to be met by 2 separate members of staff with same level of rudeness and arrogance was unacceptable.
Whilst we were eating we witnessed another customer being treated very similarly to how we were. She courageously challenged the waiting staff and told them that their behaviour and attitude was completely unacceptable. We totally agreed with her.
The food was average at best with the highlight being the croissants which we throughly enjoyed. However, the owner needs to have a serious intervention with his staff because they are doing the business an absolute disservice. Customer service is an integral part of the role and is part of the experience of dining out unfortunately the staff here lack basic etiquettes.
I have visited many restaurants and own a business myself and have never experienced such bad service, I will never visit again and will advise others not to either. There is an abundance of fantastic restaurants a stones throw away from The Milk Tree, where you will be met with kindness and treated with great respect, my advice - visit one of...
Read moreThe Milk Tree in Canning Town is truly a little touch of heaven and an oasis of my dreams. From the moment I walked in, I was transported to a world of beauty and elegance. The surroundings are absolutely stunning, with beautiful marble tables and comfortable cushion seating. The original traditional barista uniforms add to the authentic feel of the place, and the attention to detail in the design and decor is truly impressive. The facilities for charging phones and laptops show that The Milk Tree is keeping up with the modern era of digital. The taste of the Oreo chocolate cake and cappuccino was extraordinary, and the presentation was to perfection. What makes The Milk Tree stand out is its authentic feel. The attention to detail in the design and decor, as well as the quality of the food and service, make it clear that this is a place that takes pride in its offerings. The menu has a nice variety of options for coffee, brunch, and dessert, and everything is made with care and attention to detail. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the service was absolutely fantastic. The Milk Tree is a place where dreams come true, a hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the quality of everything from the original traditional barista uniforms to the toiletries in the bathroom is top-notch. The use of marble tables and comfortable cushion seating adds to the authentic feel of the place. Overall, I could only give this place a 5-star review, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great coffee, brunch, or...
Read moreI came for my first child’s first birthday and sadly our day began with a sad experience. I specifically asked the waiter for a pancake plate decorated for my son especially after seeing the nice combinations on Instagram of the pancake plates. I specified it’s my son’s first birthday and I’d appreciate a cute pancake plate. Instead I was served with the most boring plate I’ve ever seen Such a shame as it wasn’t even upto an adults standard let alone a little baby. This was his first experience at breakfast as a birthday treat horribly ruined. I had to decorate the plate myself after. We were then stuffed into a small table and a larger table was free I kindly asked to be moved there as there wasn’t much space for my baby and 3 plates of food at our table. I was told it was for larger groups which I respected but asked for the occasion and for how stuffy it was in our space if they could make an exemption. I was refused. The fruit decor for the pancake didn’t even come till we asked for it and I was told it’s served separate when all the pictures on Instagram include it. Overall, I’m sooo upset by my experience as I have been here before and we have been accommodated to hence why we chose this place. I do believe customer situations should be respected from time to time and rules can be bent to make their...
