Great food, best around for miles and they know it. Possibly confusing sidcup for the west end ? This could be the conclusion given the high prices,or perhaps this is an attempt to exploit what is no doubt viewed as a fairly affluent area. The service,or rather lack of was of great concern. Very long waiting times, even for drinks. Dismissive and arrogent staff made the whole dining experience on the evening of 17th sept 2015 most unpleasent. Trying to get a waiters attention proved very difficult, perseverance eventually paying off. This is the only indian restaurant in the area where the food is acceptable as ALL others supply the same old and tired/salty/sweet and bland rubbish which seems to appeal to many after a skinful of drink with indifferent tastebuds ! Unfortunately, I now have to include the oval brasserie in blackfen among the offenders,a great shame as they were very good before succumbing to the current plague of mediocrity on offer. As I have'nt had an Indian meal for some time you will be surprised to hear, I am going to try again tonight. The restaurant is still there, suggesting things have improved. Now I know we all can have a bad night but collectively, and to such a degree ?? We shall see.........watch this space,I will update this review,hopefully...
Read moreDoesn’t make it clear on the website it is collection only, even though on the final page before paying it says “Collection/Delivery Time”, so giving the impression they deliver. I have ordered directly through the website in the past and has it delivered, although according to the manager, I couldn’t have (I have the email confirmations to prove I am right). Waited over 2 hours for food before I had to phone to ask where it was: the manager hung up on me, offered no alternative when I said I couldn’t collect, and dared to say they would be out of pocket if I didn’t collect the food (even though I had already paid for it, and I was the one without food, so not sure how he figured that one out). Their food isn’t outstanding, certainly not worthy of this poor customer treatment as if I should be grateful to eat there, and their bhajis are some of the worst I’ve ever eaten, so needless to say I will never darken their doorstep or online presence ever again after this disastrous experience. No refund was offered or even a compromise on how I could get my food, just rudeness, so I am now sat here at 10.30pm at night starving and £40...

Menu was somewhat creative in comparison to other indian places, though somewhat expensive in places.
We ordered a mini platter for starter to try a few different things, each of which were delicious and cooked perfectly, even the onion bajii which is often greasy in other places. This platter came with a sweet 'red sauce' created by the chef and is very different and VERY nice.
Ordered Mourgh Tikka Massala which was very tasty, both the sauce and chicken tasted different in that it was a bit more minty than usual but worked a treat; but the highlight... Chicken Korma. We order as a safe bet as we're not big on spice... but this was not the usual Korma and was to die for! Never tasted a Korma like it.
Easily the best Indian place I've been to for a very long time... and as I basically married into a famioy OBSESSED with curry... I've been to more than...
