The food was good. I ordered 1 item from each section on the menu and shared it with my sister. I found the 'tikka my fancy' had a slight smell to the chicken. I couldn't figure out which spice was too overpowering. Other than that, the rest of the food was really good and tasted fresh. I ordered a lychee fruiti with mango and strawberry popping boba. It was very refreshing after a long walk in today's heat. The price for the portions was a little too high for me. Maybe you could have some house sauces to go with the food, especially the cajun fries. Also some wet wipes. The service was OK. The staff are welcoming but could have done more about the seating situation. The setup has a lounge theme to it, which suggests it caters more for students since it's situated across from Queen Mary. One of the 4 seater tables was occupied by one customer who had finished their food and was working on their laptop. Another was occupied by a group of students who had also finished eating, but were just sitting there chatting. We had no choice but to sit on a 3 seater table with a very low table, so had to pick up the steamer bowls and use one hand to hold bowl and other to eat our food. It was messy as the food on the menu are mostly street food. This situation could have been avoided if they had a system where they try and get customers to not linger by going over and clearing the table or asking them if they want dessert, for example. It's just giving them a nudge and making them aware of their surroundings (that people are waiting for tables that they can easily give up). I've seen it done in other restuarants. It keeps things running smoothly and you avoid getting upset customers or lose customers because they couldnt be seated. There were 3 girls who came in and left because they didn't want to wait for a table. There were 4 other girls who came in and waited for a table while their food was prepared, but then had to get their food packed for take out as none became available. The place was clean and tidy. If it weren't for the seating issue and the chicken tikka sandwich, I would have given it 5 stars. Well done on your...
Read moreI just went to your East Ham store and the service was awful.
At first it seemed everyone was friendly, especially the lady who served us at the tile. She gave us a pager and told us to wait as we would be notified through it once the order is ready.
After waiting for 10 minutes (appalling that it took so long to prepare just two drinks with no food), I went to the lady on the till to ask about why it was taking so long. She kindly tried to find out for me, and it looks my drinks were ready (maybe for the past 1/2min.) I just was not notified…
I asked why but couldn’t get a clear response. Not an apology, not voucher as an apology nor nothing. I used to work at Starbucks a couple of years ago, and in situations where a bad service was provided and it was our fault, we would give them a voucher or a drink on the house as an apology. This helped clients who had a bad experience feel understood and come back. In this case, i feel like I paid over £10 for two small drinks to get a bad service and not even get an apology…
I understand the store opened yesterday, but it isn’t the first store you guys have. You should have a more structured organisation that does not make costumers wait that long.
Before me, there was another costumer that also had to ask about her order twice, before finally getting it.
It is the first time I ever visited any of your stores and despite the drinks being tasty the overall experience was not worth it.
Also…. Does your East Ham Branch does not have a review page but this one does? Once more this gives me unprofessional and...
Read moreEverything a coffee shop should be! We barely had any options left for decent coffee in Mile End with everything being on the boycott list so this is such a blessing! They’re open until late so you can enjoy a catch up with friends after work over everything from frozen yoghurt, a coffee or a whole dinner in a beautiful cafe without having to travel too far if you work/live/study in the area.
Best part is the food is all halal so I’ve been slowly working my way through their menu, highly highly recommend their Smash Baogers it’s quickly become a family favourite.
I’ve been by myself, with friends and my whole family and it did not disappoint once! Every single member of staff are also super friendly and helpful, I took some relatives that were visiting London with me yesterday for a late lunch and they loved it so much, the owner was so sweet and gave us some free mochi for the table too (which btw idk who their supplier is but could give little moons a run for their money!)
The only suggestion I’d make is maybe less music for the people on study dates/those who want to wfh and more matcha options. But all...
