To ensure my reviews are fair I write them at least a few days after my experience so there are no immediate emotional factors clouding my thoughts.
I visit this place approximately two months ago and I still think about the horrible service I endured.
I was with my kids - they’re 2 and 3 years old.
The restaurant doesn’t accept card payments and you won’t know that until you’ve finished your food and it’s time to pay.
The man told me to go to the cash machine. I explained that it puts me in a difficult position because me and my kids walked to the restaurant. If you have experience with kids as young as mine, you will know that it takes significantly longer to make a 5/10 minute journey by foot because it takes them longer to walk, and they like to stop and take a closer look at things they find interesting. I explained all this to the man but he didn’t seem to care. In fact his response was “we have never taken card payment”. My point to that was how would I know if there are no visible sign saying you don’t.
He kept telling me there’s a cash machine up the road. I couldn’t believe it. He just wasn’t understanding the position he was putting me in. I was wondering what if the machine isn’t working…what next!? You should also be aware that it was approximately 9.30pm so it was dark.
So I put my thinking hat on and suggested a bank transfer. The man took out a piece of paper that had a sort code and account number already written on it and told me to transfer it to that. I was shocked! It was clear they’ve been in this situation before and had a solution! He could’ve avoided causing me the stress and the uncomfortable conversation by giving that to me in the beginning!
I could go on but I want to wrap it up by saying avoid this place. If you’re after a family friendly restaurant this is not it. The fact that I’m writing about it two months on is testament that the service this place provides is appalling. It is without a doubt the worst experience of any...
Read moreWon't be ordering food from here anymore.
They are very well known for forgetting items such as drinks.
They always overcook the chicken, they sometimes sell you chicken someone else ordered, but didn't collect which means you end up with ultra dry, hard overcooked chicken.
They will even tell you to request that the chicken be nice and soft and not overcooked. So every time I order food I have to remind them to not overcook my chicken. Apparently some people eat their chicken overcooked and overly hardened. I would love to meet these imaginary customers.
They recently started to cut back on their rice portions, which means one whole chicken with rice is no longer enough for two people.
They have also started to cut back on their sauces, the pots are now just about half filled.
They give you one chilli and one garlic sauce with half grilled chicken, but also give you the same with a whole grilled chicken, does that make sense?
Their customer service is non existent, usual Bengali run restaurant policy, just make money, serve substandard food and don't really care if the customer comes back or not.
Their card machine is always broken, since they opened years ago. We working class people pay our taxes and support the country we live in, whilst these guys are running a very profitable business and milking the system. However, I blame the government for allowing businesses to get away with it.
One freshy looking Romeo behind the counter seems too preoccupied with the polish lady staff, rather than making eye contact with customers. I don't believe he is happily married, but such men rarely are. Either way, that's irrelevant to this review.
My advice is to go elsewhere where you are valued as a customer. Me and my friends no longer give...
Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous place! Ordered 2 x mix hot meze to be delivered, was stated it would take approximately 30-40mins, after waiting for 1hr30mins, no delivery. Called Shish up to find out what the heck is going on and was told the driver is roudn the corner. Waited for another 15mins and food has arrived, thank goodness! However, the driver was ride, did not apologise that he was late, nor did he say why he was late.
Now the main point why i have left a negative review, the foor was taken out the containers, distrubted on individual plates for my family including young children. My brother chewed on his food, and started spitting it all out. He had pieces of broken glass in his food! his mouth was bleeding. I checked all the other plates and could see small parts of broken glass. I immediately called Shish and asked to speak to the manager. Rather than the manager apologising, he was quetioning me, "which mix meze did the glass come from" how on earth was i to know?! He kept repearting at that point i said i would be visiting him at the shop.
I went to the shop with my brother (one who chewed on the food), spoke to the so called manager, who hardly spoke a word of English, and even then, he was repeating the same thing "which meze was the glass found in". I Asked for him to apologise, which he did not. I asked if he knew what customer service was especially a good customer service skill, and he was baffled. SHowed him the pieces of glass, and he said "I am not sure how that happened, but i will give you a portion of bread and a side piece chicken"! How dare him!
AVOID this so called restaurant, run by Bengalis who think they know how to cook Turkish food. Stick to...
