I genuinely wish this place was my local!
I booked 5 rooms between 10 guests. The main purpose of the trip was Abba Voyage, so we wanted somewhere reasonable and close to public transportation. The Cherry is a short walk from Mile End tube station, just 1 stop away from Stratford.
On arrival, I was greeted by the very friendly Yohan (I think!) and had keys for the rooms.
The rooms were varied - the small double and one of the doubles were a tad cosier than the others but still plenty of space. They were all clean and tidy, with working air con that was an absolute treat in the recent warm spell! My room was on the second level, and could barely hear any noise. The blind over the window isn't blackout, but I would sleep through the purge so the light didn't affect me in the mornings.
We had food and drinks on our first night. The pizzas are incredible, still thinking about them now! Really nice selection, and the cocktails were fab. There was a live band on the Friday night, and the atmosphere was electric in there. I think a sunny Friday on a bank holiday weekend plus great music makes for immaculate vibes! Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. Probably not the easiest having a large group converge on a busy night but we were made to feel so welcome.
Everyone in our group really enjoyed their stay and would love to book again for the next London based outing. Thank you everyone...

ENGLISH: I booked a room for 2 nights. Arrival and check-in was problem-free, the bar staff were very friendly. The night was ok. Unfortunately, the windows in my room couldn't be opened, which makes for bad air, and the air conditioning unit hangs directly under the window, so it hums all night long. I would like to expressly mention again that the bar staff (I don't know to what extent they are part of the "hotel") were super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with room service:
Room was cleaned despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign I put up outside
A charging cable including an EU/UK adapter was stolen from me
I had 2 t-shirts and an electric toothbrush stolen
The cleaner rearranged ALL of my clothes and items. Hanged up jackets that were lying on a chair, folded t-shirts and sweaters and put them in other places, etc. She went through ALL of my things
There were extra objects in my room that didn't belong to me. Suddenly there were pills, hairbands, etc.
I got some chips and left them in the room. When I came back there were chips there too, but completely different and half eaten. Same with my toothpaste. Now i've got a different which is half used. Very strange.
I told everything to the staff at the bar/reception, who were insightful and helpful. They offered to get me a new charging cable, deal with the cleaning lady, etc. According to the owner (?), the lady has already been fired.
Edit: Big thanks to Jamie and his team, who did everything they could to solve the problem and found a way to replace the stolen items! Thank you very much, you are a great team. Best regards from Germany. We'll...
Read moreAbsolutely Awful! And they call themselves a hotel!
I stayed here nearly a year ago and it was one of the worst places I've ever had to stay. The room was disgusting, dirty, and smelt of cigarette smoke (as was the condition of the rest of the 'hotel'). There were burns on the carpet, and cigarette butts in between the windows (which weren't fitted properly). The curtains didn't close well and the two windows provided everyone on the streets below a perfect view right into the room.
The whole place looked rundown (this aesthetic was aided by the abandoned pub underneath), and the staff were somewhat hostile. Could not wait to get out of there! I had to stay for 2 nights as I was on a business trip but I had to take all of my stuff with me both days as I didn't trust leaving it in the room. Aside from that, the room was bare and unfit for letting out.
The hotel is also right over a tube line, so expect to be shaken every 3 minutes by one going past.
The only good thing about where the hotel was, was how close the Sainsbury's local was and it's closeness to a tube station... I don't even want to know where breakfast might have been served if I was...
