Read moreOMGSH!!! Watch out Upper Street, there's a refreshing masterpiece arrived. Two besties out for afternoon lunch in Upper Steet, stumbled across Mr Lobo today. Thought this is new, menu looked interesting, so we decided to give it a go. From the minute we walked in Miguel, Katia & Jòrge were amazing hosts. Atmosphere, decor, music & umbience were superb. We quickly got chatting to Owner Miguel & Jòrge who passionately talked us through the menu & concept of the resturant, while being greeted to a complimentary glass of precceco & some Peruvian roasted corn nuts. We decided to try the Octupus & Sea Bass in Tigermilk, the Mussels, then onto Casava chips (for which Miguel mixed up a special sauce to accompany) & chicken, prawn & vegetarian topping ontop of miniture mashed beetroot potato (entre sized & enough to share & taste). My friend went on to have the Sea Bass for main, while I had the Pork Belly. We had sides of Roast Potatoes & Broccoli in soya & sesame. All the dishes were, beautifully presented & so vibrantly appealing but it was the flavours of every dish, they were Incredible, just Incredible, out of this world amazing incredible. The restaurant is still creating their deserts, so we had a Baileys to end our divine afternoon lunch. We went in as hungry strangers & walked out as stuffed family. As to alot of Upper Steeet resturants, there is no access to an upstairs toilet but the stairway to the toilets were wide (soon to have a stairlift) & toilets were plesant & spotless. Our bill came to £94.00 & worth every penny, infact it was so good, I wanted to eat it all over again. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 to the🧑🏽🍳🧑🏼🍳 Miguel, Katia & Jòrge, thank you so much for such a special afternoon of wonderful company & incredible food. We wish you every succes & we will definitely be back very very soon. We highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best wishes, Sazza &...
Read moreI had high hopes for Mr. Lobo, but unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. While the staff were polite and the service was decent, and the music was good, the atmosphere overall felt quite dead.
Food-wise, it was one letdown after another: Causas – Do NOT order this. It was supposed to come with chicken, avocado, and prawns, but I couldn’t taste any of that. What I got was three small sponges of mashed potatoes in different colors (green, yellow, and red). No avocado, no proper chicken, and what was there one prawn that tasted burnt.
Octopus – Presentation was 10/10, but taste was bland, and the quantity was poor. Just a few thin slices of flavorless octopus.
Salmon Tartare with Rice Cracker – Very thin portion and extremely salty. At £9.90, I didn’t expect luxury, but I did expect balance in flavor, which was missing.
Ceviche Mixto – This was the biggest failure. Incredibly salty with far too many onions. I actually left with heartburn and didn’t even share it with my partner. It looked great visually, but there were only a few small pieces of fish buried under all those onions.
Overall, the food looked nice but didn’t deliver on taste or quality. The only saving grace was the polite staff, but sadly, that’s not enough for me to come back or recommend this place.
I truly hope the restaurant takes this as constructive feedback and improves because right now, it’s all style and...
