My Falafel Camberwell — Restaurant in London

Contrary to all the good reviews I actually think this place is overrated. Used to be passable but now something really went wrong. Got a chicken and aubergine wrap where the meat had bits that were at the same time too fatty and the worst hard to chew type of crispy. Asked for aubergines and bossman gave me 3 tiny bits while there were bigger slices in the tray. I would call him out but I didnt feel like quarreling. Taking the piss tho. Literally the blandest wrap I ever had- the bread is stale, garlic sauce had no flavour and couldn’t even taste it until the end where it all collected- even then like next to zero flavour. I literally took out a singular piece of aubergine and chicken- ZERO salt. Cabbage and lettuce (the only salad on offer minus white onions which looked horrible), were like I was crunching on water. Bossman also pushed the wrap into my hand as if he’s like “here you go idc about you”. Never...

Clean, decorative, pleasant and comfortable place to sit and eat food.

Bench seat layout to relax and slow your day down.

Customer service guy fast in speech and serving so I had to ask him to slow down his auto pilot mode.

Chicken shawarma with rice tastes home cooked as the chicken is not dry but juicy succulent and crisp on the outside to give it a bbq effect.

Decent size portions of salads, and other servings.

Cutlery is Morrison theme and feels like street food in Morocco. I have not been to Morocco.

Was passing through due to work parked on a road without permit was scared of getting a ticket but forgot I came in car as the place has a relaxed theme to it.

The aroma of food being cooked at the back has a homely theme to it. Arabic speaking individuals relaxed in their own environment without the fake phony English customer service.

What more is there to say? I've been coming here for almost 3 years and I love every single item on the menu, and not only is it cooked to perfection every time, the taste and quality is always consistent no matter time of day or if you collect or deliver. The portions are very ample and filling and the price has stayed mostly consistent over the years too (maybe 50p increase on wraps in 3yrs which is impressive). Staff are very friendly and place is clean and well air conditioned. I often see a line coming out of a nearby falafel wrap place, but this is my favourite in what me and my friends call the "Camberwell Shawarma Debate".
