I was very disappointed about the customer service of Rodney and Lavina on the 14th of June 2024 at 9.30pm-10pm. I made a call at 9.34pm asking whether it would be possible for me to make an order and come to collect it seeing that Nando’s was shutting soon. Lavina said that is fine and took my order over the phone which I thought was odd and when she asked about payment I said I will pay when I get to the restaurant. I even called back at 9.50pm asking to change the 5 chicken wings to 10 and she said okay. I also found it weird that she didn’t ask for my name but not once did she explain that orders are not taken over the phone, so then when I arrived at Nando’s at 10pm and requested for my order, they couldn’t find it. I stated what I ordered but they couldn’t find it and one man- named Rodney apparently- was very rude to me. He was telling me that orders are not taken over the phone several times whilst smirking and nearly laughing at me instead of explaining it properly. I even took out my phone to show that I called the Peckham Nando’s twice and he said is that even the correct number, show me how long you was on the phone for etc. as if he didn’t believe me. I told him that I’m not making this up which is when I continued to show the calls. I then said that he should be explaining to his staff that orders are not taken over the phone as they didn’t inform me of that and I thought that she is making my life easier by placing the order over the phone since I’m ordering so last minute, otherwise she could of told me to still do it online. There was a huge lack of communication and Rodney’s attitude was very offensive. He kept asking who I spoke on the phone with and I said I didn’t take their name and he said there we go. I left my house in a hurry so I could go get some food as I have been starving due to being at work and then being ‘greeted’ with such distasteful attitude is not ideal. I even asked if I could just order now at the till and he said no there’s no food. I stated that it’s his staff’s fault and asked for a solution and he said there is none. Read moreI ordered a mediterranean salad from Nandos Peckham on 1st of November 2025 along with some other food. Most times when I place an order at Nandos Peckham they get it right. However that day the salad arrived with no Olives, no Salad dressing, no feta cheese and had two small tomatoes and a few cucumbers. I called and spoke to the duty manager expressing how upset i was and informed him to make sure that staff member is retrained. There was no apology or any offer for a replacement salad. I completed an online booking form and submitted all the information with a photo but Nandos never got back to me. Anyway I called Nandos Peckham on 7th of November and spoke to the duty manager explaining the situation and how I havent heard back from Nandos. I said I wanted to place a new order with Half chicken and asked if he would add the mediterranean salad in the order for me but he got off the phone after speaking to someone saying they can't do it. I offered send him the photo and was even prepared to go to there. He just insisted I fill out the form even though I told him the order number is no longer showing on the Nandos app. The customer service is very poor and they dont offer alternatives when their staff mess up the order. Every time I’ve visited, it has been relatively quiet, which I really appreciate. The calm environment makes dining here enjoyable, as it’s easy to navigate without feeling overwhelmed by noise or crowds.
That said, I understand that this might not be ideal from a business perspective, as the restaurant is tucked away and not as easily noticeable. While this might limit foot traffic, it works wonderfully for customers like me who value a more relaxed and controlled dining experience.
