Brilliant pub. Quite new to Kingston but have checked out several pubs beforehand.
O’Neills is by far the best in Kingston. The best aspect is the bar staff. Nicola, Ciara, Chantal de Mer, Alex, Nathan, Emily, Love Island, Original Ciara, Pete, BabyFace and German guy are a top bunch even the Chef pops down and says hello. Making what is essentially a chain bar feel like a traditional regular freehouse pub.
The atmosphere is top score as well with varied nights making it interesting throughout the week. They stay open late on Fridays n weekends with live music and other events.
The bouncers are a great bunch. Relaxed, chatty, honest but know exactly when to step in and are always polite explaining things. I think with people like that you defuse most situations before they begin. Wish i could say the same for other bars as Bacchus which is a disgrace especially the lady door person. Never seen anyone so unsuited in 25yrs of drinking.
As mentioned, have been to other establishments. Kingston Tun can be okay on a Friday night but generally is too big and cavernous.
Fighting Cocks; full of “alternatives” who are supposed to be on the outside and different. But in reality if you don’t fit into their clique then you get treated like an outsider. The very thing they whine about in general life.
Could go on but feel like ive settled on a good 2nd home here. O’Neills has great staff, well served drinks, food and banter. A nice outside area and varied nights with plenty of TVs. Nice drink prices, good variety, nice food menu.
What more can you ask for?
The World Cup so far has seen several nationalities mixing in a friendly environment and its easy to make new friends here.
Briefly met the manager and pretty much , her values are filtering down to her staff and the pub in general.
Only advice i’d give is......nothing . You are all doing a great job. Pubs are like cooked steaks so simple a concept. But just like the steak......so many get it completely wrong.
Not O’Neills. Long...

I’ve spent well over £700 in this pub over the past few months/ year supporting them by watching Chelsea games, ( and other big PL games) buying drinks, and bringing friends. Yet, the moment the final whistle blew on a Friday afternoon, the staff immediately kicked out my friend simply for wearing tracksuit bottoms. No warning, no discretion, just pure disrespect!
This isn’t some high-end club—it’s a sports pub where people come to relax and enjoy the game after a long day of work. If they’re going to enforce a ridiculous dress code, they should at least tell customers in advance instead of humiliating loyal patrons. The staff clearly don’t value regulars, only quick cash from weekend crowds.
No loyalty, no common sense, no reason to ever return. Plenty of better pubs in the area that actually appreciate their customers. Save your money and go elsewhere!
It is truly a shame as some of the staff are lovely to deal with, but after being bullied out of the venue I am sure I will never return, despite being a regular customer for the past 2/3 years.
I wish you good luck on the business plan, as in my experience disregard for loyal customers is a sure way to lose money! I will also be following up on this complaint with a request for a refund, due to being requested to leave the venue before being able to finish my drink.
I will edit this review with any updates, even though I am not expecting to receive a respons from such a disgraceful...
