Oddono's East Dulwich — Restaurant in London

Oddono's is one of my favourite gelato places. I've been going for more than 10 years, back when there wasn't the plethora of ice-creameries around London.

I tried the lychee flavour for the first time. It was refreshing. I had it in a small tub with pistachio, which is always great.

I usually visit South Kensington, but actually haven't been going as much in the last few years.

It was my first visit to the East Dulwich Oddono's. We crammed around the corner table, all 7 of us.

Love that it's open late at night. We went after we had dinner in a nearby pub. There was no queue or wait because it was just us, on a Friday night around 10pm in early September when it had rained a little earlier on, yet it was still feeling like late Summer.

Amazing gelati and sorbets, which are all made on site, as well as coffee and ice cream cakes. Highly recommend the strawberry sorbet, which somehow tastes more of strawberry than even strawberries themselves, and has a deliciously creamy texture (without cream, obviously).

No step to get in, but there's a small threshold, which is ramped. There's plenty of space to get in and turn around inside with a wheelchair or pushchair. All the gelati/sorbets are easily viewed from low down, though the top of the counter is high. Staff are lovely and seem well-aware of ways to be helpful to disabled customers and those with food allergies/ dietary...

Really great spot for gelato and sorbets. Love that they are also open late for an evening sweet treat after dinner. I think it's also great that they have taken a lot of strides to think about the planet and the environment by drastically reducing their use of non-recyclables. Their tubs to take home now are in compostable gelato boxes and the tubs served are also biodegrade-able. They have a good variety of flavours from fruity to chocolate/vanilla, nutty and more "modern" flavours like cookies and cream.
