OKA Restaurant Notting Hill — Restaurant in London

I have ordered couple of times from this place on Uber Eats and every time I was super happy with the food. Sushi here is a must try in this place. The way they prepare sushi is incredible that even someone like me with no interest in sushi (raw fish smells 😷), become a sushi lover.

I tried almost all the special rolls from this place and my favourite so far is Salmon tataki Asparagus, Red dragon, crunchy tuna roll and spider rolls.

I also tried the Uramaki California Prawn, which was amazing and fresh. If you are the fan of Maki as well, I strongly recommend the Salmon, Avocado Maki.

They have a Wakame Seaweed salad which tastes sweet and sour. The tofu inside just drains all the liquid and becomes very soggy but apart from that, the salad tastes amazing.

The grilled salmon Miso is good as well. If you need a safe option, this is what you are looking for. Although the vegetable is quite disappointing but the salmon is deliciously plain.

Cauliflower in Korean BBQ is a must try. The sauce is sweet and tangy and just crunchy cauliflower tastes heaven. If you like cauliflower, you will love this starter.

Chilli Sambal Prawn is tangy and spicy too. I ordered that on noodle instead of rice, there is not much prawn in there but tastes good.

If I want to be honest, the chicken here does not taste good. I tried the Kung Pao Chicken and it was disappointing. The chicken was very dry and not so fresh. They serves halal chicken.

Stir fry variety of mushrooms is a good side dish. Slightly salty but worth trying.

Overall, if you are about to go to this place, definitely try the rolls. If you are looking for some sushi place, definitely go to this restaurant. I can’t...

Do not order Deliveroo from here. The restaurant uses their own drivers and then takes no responsibility when their orders are delivered late. I was also completely dismissed and interrupted repeatedly over the phone when calling the restaurant to inquire what the issue was. Driver pointed the finger at the restaurant and the restaurant pointed the finger at the driver. Zero thought for the customer.

In response to the owners reply: I appreciate the notice on the postal code having 1 inverted letter/number. Somehow over a half dozen Deliveroo orders over the last few weeks have had zero issue getting here on time or even ahead of schedule. Regardless of your delivery and customer service issues- your product is outstanding. This Notting Hill location frankly had better flavor than the other Oka locations I’ve tried. Poor quality ramen served in a tiny cereal sized bowl. The ramen was more like a minestrone soup. Did not taste at all like ramen should taste it’s more like Mediterranean soup! I asked the rather intense and direct male waiter for some chilli oil to dash onto my ramen but he said he would charge for it!? (£2.50) like what the hell?? No one else has ever charged for it.
