We sat in for dinner assuming food / service would be better than take away. Not a great experience at all i have to say.
We were the only two in the restaurant and although my friend was already there and had a glass of wine, I was not acknowledged for a drink or even given a menu for almost 10mins until I asked for someone, which was ridiculous because there were around 8/9 staff standing around chatting about 2 metres from us.
The service was massively incompetent in telling us what what was in stock and not in stock and we were given different menu with different foods and told we should have scanned the QR code for the menu (didn’t realise) anyway no biggie.
Ordered starter and our main and the. Slammed with the build before any food arrived and made to pay which I wasn’t happy about.
Starters arrived and main arrived at the same time. So the big bowl of sludge pasta was sitting getting cold while we ate our starters. We told the server could they not bring out mains after we had finished our starters so it didn’t get cold and his response was “well we aren’t busy and haven’t anything to do so just made that at the same time” then walked off (wasn’t rude but seriously!).
By the time we got to the “pasta” it was solid, wet and cold. Barely any to no sauce on the pasta and so had to send it back. I’ve made better pasta at home myself. Given that this is speciality and what they mainly do, it was appalling. Any Italian would be ashamed.
The dishes are clearly pre prepared reheated boil in the bag dishes NOTHING is cool fresh. You can tell when pasta has been cooked fresh and when it has been cooked, cooked and reheated. This was exactly the latter, rubbery, dry chewy pasta with no sauce!
For £54 I felt it was a disgrace what we were served. Mark my words this place will not last long on Chiswick High Road. It’s fierce with competition and this is by far the worst place next to tarantella for Italian! Don’t waste your hard earned cash for something you could whip up...
Read moreSadly, I’ve had to give this place a 1 star. They do not take allergens seriously or peoples dietary needs. Myself & my boyfriend are both vegan by choice we do not eat dairy or meat and I am lactose intolerant. We both ordered vegan dishes & the focaccia bread which is shown as vegan. The food comes out and the focaccia bread quite obviously has butter on it. We ask the waitress is it’s vegan to which she goes to check if it is. We are then told by the same women (a women with blonde hair working in there) that “V” on the menu means vegan & “VG” means vegetarian (which is wrong) we then worry our pasta isn’t vegan, she then comes back and says “yes everything is VEGAN that we have ordered” we then take a bite out of the focaccia bread which we then realised was definitely not vegan, we see the women & 2 men talking and looking at different things on a phone and then the women and one of the guys walks off to the back of the restaurant. About 2/3 minutes later the guy comes out from the back and over to our table and asks “are you allergic to dairy is it an allergy” to which I say this isn’t vegan is it & he says “no it has milk in it” after we have been sold it is all vegan and of course the women that told us this could not come and tell us or even apologise for her mistake. We were then still charged for the meal and on top of this a service charge. The water which was about £3 was taken off and the focaccia bread. I will say the pasta is very nice but the service with this situation was appalling & if we had been allergic to dairy this could have been a very dangerous situation which was not...
Read moreWe arrived at lunchtime on a quiet, non-busy day with only one other couple in the restaurant. I have an assistance dog due to personal reasons and wore my ID card visibly around my neck.
When we tried to get a table, the waitress informed us that dogs weren't allowed in the restaurant, stating they were "unsanitary." I politely asked her to confirm with the manager, as under the Equality Act 2010, assistance dogs are legally permitted in food establishments. The law specifies that reasonable adjustments should be made for assistance dogs, which help individuals overcome barriers caused by their disabilities.
The manager eventually came over, but unfortunately, she was not receptive or helpful. She insisted it was store policy not to allow dogs and mentioned it was the same policy at the Richmond branch, offering no flexibility or understanding.
We left and had lunch elsewhere. On our way back, we noticed a small sign in the window stating that assistance dogs are allowed. We went back in to clarify, showing her the sign, but the manager still claimed assistance dogs were "unsanitary" and refused to change her stance. It became clear that this was less about policy and more about the branch manager's personal bias against dogs.
Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience due to poorly trained staff and an unhelpful...
