Thai food in a pub –Really, how good can it be if its cooked out of a pub (not a common occurrence in Van)? I came here with a few coworkers, partially hoping to be pleasantly surprised, moreso looking for failure and wanting to be the voice that said ā€œI knew there couldn’t have been good Thai food hiding back hereā€. But honestly? I’m stepping down from my soapbox – cuz its pretty damn good.

I walked through the dark wooden interior of the pub to get to the back where the Thai resto is – which transformed into a brightly lit and modern interior, with lots of windows and a skylight, making everything more relaxed and breatheable, if that makes sense. All dishes are Ā£7.50 (for both eat in and takeaway), so I ended up trying the Pad Thai. It’s a boring choice, I know, but I had food poisoning (sorry, TMI) and needed to stick with something light. The noodles weren’t stuck together or mushy, you get 6 large crunchy prawns, the flavour was good and I was struggling to finish my plate. Everyone else ordered different curries + rice, veg stir fries, or fried rice. They all seemed pretty happy with their choices, and as much as I wanted to dig into their plates, the professional side of me decided it was – well, unprofessional to do so. So I will have to come back here.

A tip on ordering: Their takeaway menu has about 25 main dishes, and 10 starters listed (which all slide in under Ā£5). Its got your standard fried noodle dishes, stir fries, and curries with rice. But, this only makes up about 70% (I think) of what they actually offer! Take a peek at the black wall, because that is a list of their full menu. Yes boys and girls, it has a larger selection starters, soups, seafood & specialties (which aren’t even listed on the takeaway menu), and I bet several other rice / noodle dishes. I think the resto must have only listed their most popular dishes for ease. Understandable, but damn – I am definitely coming back here to try their other items. The catch? You probably won’t know what those dishes are unless you google the names, or ask the staff (which might be a pain for them). There aren’t any descriptions, only the Thai names. I say come with a group of friends, and order a bunch of dishes you aren’t familiar with with.

Also, this place makes it easy for you to order ahead of time, which is handy for large lunch groups rushing to get back to work. Fill out their order form, and email it in a day beforehand. Just make sure you bring the form with you, because they call the dishes out by number, and none of us actually remembered what...

Im rating temporarily 1 so that this is noticed.

I'm a regular at this pub for a year now, and I bring all my friends here to boast about how lovely the staff is, how beautiful the pub looks, and how I have made good friends randomly.

This review is about a new female member (or I haven't seen her till now because I generally don't come in on Sundays) of the staff on the evening of 25th August. My friends and I couldn't believe how rude and unpleasant this particular person could be. If you don't like people, please don't work at this pub and ruin it for the patrons and other staff.

Right from the time she served us beer because the other wonderful staff had left, she was rude and mumbling over various things. I thought it was a misunderstanding on my part, but she did the same to another man we met at the pub.

Cut to a bit later, we are informed that we need to leave, without even a final closing announcement that is usually done by others. When I ask how much time we have, she says "there is no time you need to leave". When we asked as a pleasant request if there are plastic cups to take the full glasses of beer we have left, she shouted "NO. You need to drink it or leave it, and it's time to leave".

What kind of language and arrogance is this, and that too shouting so loudly when we are mere feet away? No one is here for charity and we arent trouble makers. Heck, we weren't even talking loudly throughout. It was a simple request to which she could have just said she didnt have any plastic cups, and we would have left right away. Thank you for letting my birthday end on such a sour note.

I, and probably every other sane decent person, go to a pub to relax and spread some cheer amicably. We aren't there to make it a hostile argumentative space.

I know this incident doesnt reflect the pub and I have utmost respect for everyone else here. But this lady was just not it. The way she was annoyed with us for just existing even raised the question if she was racist. If you have other problems in life, dont channel it to random people. If you are like this generally, then...

Me and my friends we really like the pub and the staff working there who are always friendly. Last night we decided to try the thai restaurant and we were deeply disappointed. the service was terrible and the food even worst – WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THER AGAIN! To start with we got apprached by the waitress while we were deicding on our drinks, me and one of my friends were considering having quiness however we ere not sure as our other friend fancided some wine. We aked for extra time as we ere not sure what to have. Few minutes later another waitress came to take our order and we asked for a bottle of wine. The first waitress came with 2 pints of quiness and we said to her we did not order that. Then the waitress who was taking our order forced us to have that quiness as otherwise they would have to pay for it. She made us feel bad and although we fancied the bottle of wine we had to have quiness which I hardly touched. Then our starters arrived which were absolutely disgusting! My friends had some dumplings filled with air and I had tom yum soup which looked and tasted horrible! We were very hungry so we decided we will force ourselves to eat it. No one came to check if the food was ok. Then our mains arrived and it went from bad to worst – I asked for my pad thai extra spicy and it came extra sweet while my friends curry was extremely spicy which he could not handle. When the waitress came to the table and she saw my plate almost full she asked if we have finished I replied to her that we did but I could not eat my food as it was really bad – she replied ā€˜OK’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we decided we won’t speak to the manager as it was pointless – our night was spoiled already and we did not want to make it worst. It is the first time I am writing this kind of review and I would not do it if it wasn’t so bad. This morning I woke up and my stomach feels funny and I only hope it is not food poisoning as the food was not...

My favourite pub in London which as a Chiswick local I am blessed to have here. A Fullers pub run by Mike and his well picked team who really know what they are doing. Expect warm welcome, nice crowd of all sorts of Londoners coming together over a great selection of Fullers beers and great Thai food. There are unique guest ones on tap rotated often and they always have crisp cold Asahi larger to wash down the best Thai food in London. Dogs are welcome like all good London pubs, our have developed a taste of Thai food and as a result, they always drag us there. Thai restaurant at the back if you are not a dog lover and want a restaurant setting for your night.

I haven't been here for 10 years, and was once a regular. I've been looking for an excuse to go back, and found that excuse last week. I went to the restaurant area and didn't spend much time in the bar area. The food is as good a ever, service was very friendly and polite. The restaurant was busy at a time I would expect it to be quiet. But that's a good sign. The only negative I can think of was the toilets. They desperately need an upgrade. The toilets let the place down. I'll be returning again soon. I will not leave it another 10 years. Recommended.

This review is a bit late as I went 24th July of this year with some friends to check out the pubs in Chiswick. The old pack horse won for a lot of us and is in my top ten london pubs. The 2 staff behind the bar were absolutely lovely and friendly. They do a variety of fruity ciders and beers which is exquisite and makes you want to try the rest. The pub decor, vibe of the place and staff is just beautiful. I wish they could relocate to north London where I live, as I’ve been thinking about their pineapple and grapefruit on tap that’s all I’m saying!
