I wonāt be eating at this Pepeās Peri Peri again their food is not fresh, and itās honestly disappointing. I ordered the chicken and rice, and while most of it was okay, 2ā3 pieces of chicken were stale, and the rice tasted like it had been sitting there since the night before. Thatās not acceptable, especially from a restaurant that claims to serve quality food.
Yes, Iāll admit it was partly my fault for not watching how they prepared it, but the responsibility is on them to serve fresh food, not to sneak old food onto customers' plates hoping no one will notice. I notice ā because I know fresh food, and more importantly, I get sick from eating anything that isnāt.
Iāve learned my lesson: Iāll stick to grilled chicken or a burger, and Iāll make sure to watch it being made if I ever go again which honestly, I doubt I will. This experience has made me lose trust in this location, and thatās frustrating because Iām actually a big fan of Pepeās overall.

So our situation was that someone called Tanya at this branch promised to replace a chicken & rice (we ordered 2) which was topped up with extra chicken and 2 sauces that were missing in our order.
Unfortunately she first said it was okay to come to the store and just before we were leaving she said that actually they couldnāt help us as her staff said they definitely made two rice boxes.
Upon consulting with Uber they didnāt give a refund as my sisterās account is brand new and itās hard to speak to a real person.
Tanya first accepted the blame and then changed her mind on it, which is not only unprofessional but also shows how extremely incompetent the staff at this particular branch is.
We as a family are a huge fan of the Pepeās franchise. We highly recommend you order from Leytonstone or Walthamstow as this Chigwell branch has the lowest reviews, the franchise and owner of the branch should investigate staff skill-level, I can only imagine how much profit is going to be lost from frauding money from customers!

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so i visited again hoping for a better experience with more fresh food and a cleaner kitchen instead i was told by the cashier that the grill was turned off even though it was only 10.05 and it says online they close at 10.30.The cashier, instead of offering alternatives or solutions simply stood there without any helpful suggestions just staring at me. To their credit the kitchen was cleaner than when i had visited before but that wouldn't be that hard to beat. The subpar quality of chicken paired with the poor value for money you get at this shop makes it difficult to recommend this...
