I don't like posting negative reviews about local businesses, but I have to review this restaurant poorly, in the hope that they will listen to the review and improve the food here, and also warn others who are looking for a good local restaurant. Whilst service was excellent, with cheerful, attentive staff who offered us complementary limoncello at the end of the meal, the food itself was verging on disgracefully bad. My pasta dish was the pollo al forno - a baked chicken pasta dish. It was like someone had boiled some law quality gelatinous packet pasta, upended it over an oven dish with some raw broccoli and and poured some cream over the top. That was then accompanied by some scant and dry slices of precooked chicken breast and a rubber like puck of roasted mozarella over the top. It was the worst pasta dish I have ever eaten in a restaurant. My father had the cod wrapped in bacon and said that his fish tasted slightly of ammonia. It was only because we were with company and busy that he decided not to send it back (and my father very rarely if ever sends back food). My mother's liver with bacon was overcooked. My calamari for starters was tasteless and rubbery. The list goes on.
I do not know why this restaurant receives such high reviews. Whilst service was good the food is in urgent need of imporvement. We will of course, not...
Read moreI like this place, It's a small chain of three restaurants. I can't speak for the others but this branch feels more like an independent family run business.
On my evening dinner visit, the place was bustling but the waiters didn't seem fazed by the demands made on them from hungry patrons. My order was taken promptly and a wine recommended by the waiter was also added.
My food, once served was excellent and the feedback from my wife was that hers was too.
The wine as suggested by the waiter delicious and was exactly to my taste.
My second visit was for lunch and I went for the set menu that give you a starter and a main, or a main with a drink (beer, house wine or soft drink); very good value at £10.95. I can recommend the Spaghetti with mussels, garlic, chilli, white wine & fresh tomato. A glass of the house red complemented it extremely well.
I can highly recommend this restaurant and I will be...
Read moreMy husband and I (and child) are just home from a delicious meal at Piazza Firenze in Hampton Hill.
We have been coming here for years, and requested our favourite dishes. Even though they aren't on the menu anymore the chefs were so accommodating.
My husband ordered a fillet steak, with peppercorn sauce - it was outstanding! My pasta (also from the old menu - beef tagliatelle) was wonderful. Last time we came in, we were told by another chef on duty, that it wasn't possible to order from the old menu. Tonight though, they pulled it out of the bag!!! Thank you so much!
The waitress also deserves a mention. She was very attentive and professional - asking us several times how things were.
There was also a lovely feeling in the restaurant tonight, and a nice warm atmosphere. A perfect Sunday night! Thank you Piazza Firenze - see...
