Felt like and inconvenience the moment we walked in. My father is a war veteran, a big guy also so doenst like squeezed onto a small table. It was a quiet so we asked for a larger table, well that was questioned I felt like I was getting told off by a teacher. Could understand it was busy but only one other couple was eating and they were outside!
Food was ordered, with out a smile and barely any speech from with waitress. Pizza was ok, but I ordered a mixed salad… I was served simply lettuce leaves and dressing! I asked whether it should have tomatoes and cucumbers (as stated in the menu). It was taken away and returned 10 mins later with 5 slices of cucumber and no tomatoes.
The bill was delivered with zero apologies for the salad screw up or lack of smiles or hospitality. I stated I was disappointed with the salad. The waitress left and 1 minute later the lady that doesn’t smile came back and stood next to me and looked at me for 10 seconds before saying she would remove the salad from the bill!
Utterly gob smacked at the service especially in London. I’m more so disappointed as I rarely get to see my father and this was meant to be a nice Monday night...
Read moreThis place is slipping. Recently had a pizza here and it made my stomach turn. Ate a slice and then checked the pizza. The dough was not cooked all the way through, probably as there was way too much cheese on it. The beef they use is really low quality and was full of solid fat bits which you couldn’t eat. Better to have a simpler, smaller menu, use higher quality ingredients and get the cooking right in my opinion.
When checking the pizza I lifted a piece of beef up and there was a hair under it… Manager then proceeded to make a spectacle out of the situation and in the middle of restaurant lift it up to the hanging light to draw more attention to the situation. Really strange behaviour from the manager, paid for drinks and left.
I have eaten at other Brixton pizzas and they have been far better than what I ate last week.
Will not be returning...
Read moreExcellent little pizza parlour that offers up authentic italian ingredients on their made to order pizzas. Un fact, they have so much faith in their dough they even have a small selection of dipping sauces on their menu, so you don't have to waste a single bite (I tried, and recommend, the salsa piccante which has a spicy kick to it). The pizza bianca (the cima de rapa) was one of the best versions we've had - plenty of cheese and salsiccia with classic italian greens to ease the richness. The Diavola was also very decent, although I would have hoped for a little more n'duja (available as an added extra).
The restaurant itself is very cosy, and opens out onto the street during summer with an excellent line in early 21st century pop music in the background. The service is very polite and speedy as well - we were eating less than 15 minutes after...
