I went there with my sister and her 1yo baby. I'm giving one star only because of the service. During our lunch the staff, the waitress who was serving us was actually really nice and made us feel welcome. However, the whole visit was all in all far from being great. We both ordered pizzas. My sister said her was OK. I've ordered vegan one plus 2 sides of rocket. First of all the pizza was below avarage, I would say the worst I have ever had and I had a few in my life. The crust was totally burnt, onion and mushrooms were raw and I barely got any vegan cheese on top. Second thing, I asked for 2 sides of rocket, just plain rocket. I got two handfuls of it with parmesan and balsamic vinegar on top. I'm vegan, so I didn't touch it and asked for another 2 but plain, just plain leaves. And, yes, I like lots of rocket on my pizza, therefore straight away went for two portions, cause I didn't count on that one it's gonna be enough for me. However, I was surprised how little it actually was, so half way through ordered the third one. When it came to paying, I looked at the bill, they have charged me £4,30 for each of ordered side of rocket!!! £4,30 for few plain leaves! I paid £12,90 for less than I would get for £1 in the supermarket next door! 12,90 is actually the prize of the pizza in comparison. I get that it's restaurant, so i know it will be more expensive than coop but come on... 12,90!!?? And I didn't even touch one of them cause it had cheese on top and this was not what I asked for. I paid it and left cause didn't wanna cause any issues, as I already was probably annoying for them, but I regret I didn't challenge it. Besides, the women who delivered the third handful of rocket to our table gave me a look as if I killed her entire family (she was the other waitress, not the one who I said was nice and served us at the beginning). Also, there were two other tables in the area we were sitting. They both got their food way quicker than us, even if we were before them to order, and they had pizzas as well. There was another thing going on, but that we both found rather funny, not problematic, when my sister had a brownie ordered, and we asked 4 times for it to be delivered before they brought it, including one time when instead of desired brownie the waitress brought us the bill. I don't go out very often, I do it as a treat, so when I go I really wanna enjoy the food I'm having. This was tbh pretty awful, half of it inedible and way(!) overpriced. I work in hospitality myself so I know that when we showed up at the door with a toddler we could be taken as a potential damage (because of the little one who was running around like crazy;)) so I really appreciate that they accommodated us. It wasn't very busy tho, so I can't see why would that be a problem, however, still the beginning of our lunch experience that day was very nice! Just whatever happened after was pretty bad. It's very VERY unlikely that we will go...
Read morePizza express Mill Hill is truly a place of beauty. It’s everything a customer could want. In this review I will break down the majestic place that is pizza express and how it is the cornerstone of the pizza industry. Firstly the variety of the menu that is simply unmatched and caters to everyone’s needs. They do great vegetarian options and kids menus (with an unusually engaging kids activity book feat. The Dough Balls). In pizza express you are quite simply spoilt for choice. Delicious starters, salads, drinks, pastas and the pinnacle of the restaurant its pizza. Get a Romana base and you’re set. The iconic sauce soothes the palate with its textural brilliance and exquisite taste that rejuvenates the mouth. The soft crunch of the pizza base is unlike other brands whose pizzas have a texture like cardboard , and pizza express’s base does not take away from the sauce like other places. As I said there is pretty much every pizza under the sun (Margherita, Padana e.g.), and toppings can be added or taken away. Pizza express holds so many great memories such as birthday parties, family dinners and meeting friends. Yet despite the actual name of the restaurant being that of pizza express it can easy to abnegate the prelude to pizzas: Doughballs. Soft, airy and well paired with garlic butter, I mean can you really call it a trip to Pizza express without it? If your not the person who likes plain stuff there are all sorts of varieties like my favourite pesto loaded. And for the perfect pairing, take a trip to Yogo pink next door. ( I have written a review about it too). Also for the drinks a cheeky appetiser is perfect. In terms of service it is pretty decent usually there are 2 waiters serving. You can’t spell pizza express without a W....
Read moreWe visited this past Monday after an eventful day with the kids who were starving.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Lovely atmosphere. With two inside floors for dining and an outside dining area in the back. Unfortunately it was raining the day we went so we couldn’t enjoy that but next visit for sure!
Did not have to wait long at all to be seated. Keep in mind there was a large party in the back seating area and only one waiter serving everyone.
We chose the front area. Though our server did let us know there was a large party in the back our orders might take a bit longer. This was definitely not the case.
We ordered two dough balls, two portions of garlic bread with cheese, polenta chips, a kids meal and two large pizzas. I won’t attempt to know the actual name of each but one was the mushroom (big favourite) and the other we did 1/2 & 1/2. Margarita and then the veggie option that had artichokes for days! The kids even ordered a large ice cream sundae that had the whole works. They loved it!
At the end everyone was so happy and the food was so fresh. I’m from NY, so this was the best pizza I have had here so far. Thank you.
And a HUGE THANK YOU to our Server Omar. He was very detailed about the menu and was running the entire floor with...
