I’m a regular diner at Pizza Express and took my son to your branch at High Street Ruislip at 7,30 pm this Tuesday 22 January 19.
The branch was empty with a handful of tables taken up.
Once we placed our order we got the food but unfortunately there was no condiments like salt and pepper on the table.
When the waiter brought the food we asked him for salt and chilli oil.
Sadly our request was ignored. After 20 minutes we asked again for salt and chilli oil and again we were ignored. As we were coming to the end of our dinner I stood up like it was a self service restaurant, and went to the manageress who was literally standing around doing absolutely nothing & I told her that we had asked for a basic thing like salt and have still not received it. She didn’t apologise but sent a waiter with salt as we had now finished our meal.
When I was paying my bill I told the manageress who could barely speak any English that the service at this branch was terrible. Instead of apologising she told me that I can get better service at another branch and next time I should go to a different branch. How pathetic is this person you employ as a manager. This is terrible, as I can see now why Pizza Express is going down hill, as this is the attitude that will result in branches closing down.
When a manager disrespects customers in this abhorrent way you have got a major problem. The guests diners next to our table were shocked and this behaviour does so much damage to the brand of Pizza Express beyond repair. It’s people like her that gives other branch’s and your company a bad name.
It’s begs the question that does Pizza Express deserves our future business
Sad fact is when I complained to head office some one called Eva they decided that they trusted a member of staff over a customer. I’m not surprised that Pizza Express made a loss of £17m when head office staff have such like Eva have a pathetic attitude towards customers and total disrespect!!
Sadly all the values of Mr Boizot the founder of Pizza Express cease to exist in my opinion as a loyal customer with such terrible service I had encountered then the arguments with a member of head office who has no respect for customers values!
Not a place I would visit again. If head office can behave in such an abhorrent manner then the staff can behave worst. Sadly the rot of a business stars with the...
Read moreNormally good, but had a very poor experience this time. Had a large party booking with plenty of notice given. I was the first to arrive and the manager came straight over and started to ask if I was the organiser of the party. I told him that it was a family member and he started to tell me how we can only have the table for 2 hours and that as it is a Saturday and the only day they make any money that we could only have the tables till 6.30pm. I asked him what we would have to do at 6.30pm and he said we would have to leave. From the outset he had a very poor attitude and was making me feel uncomfortable for being there. Clearly he is not hitting his daily spend target and it trying to turn tables very quickly to maximise on his numbers. As soon as some of the others arrived he was hiding away as he knew his behaviour was not acceptable. We decided that this was not going to be a fun evening if we were to stay so we decided to call around to see if anyone else could accommodate a large party at short notice. On the way out I asked the manager for his name and he refused to give it to me and said I don't need to give you my name in a very rude way and that I can contact head office and they will know. Luckily there is a prezzo not too far and after a quick call they were happy to have our business. It was a real win for us as we discovered that prezzo is on the pond and has has some beautiful views. We were seated in the conservatory out the back and had access to the outdoor area.
Overall a pretty poor experience at Pizza Express and will not be using this branch again. From what I have read about this branch, I doubt they would have been able to serve us all in the time they were giving us. Rest of the staff were fine, but the manager should go on some sort of course or not be allowed in an area like ruislip. Zero stars from me, unfortunately I have...
Read moreBest Pizza Express I've had!!!!
I'd had a miserable day where everything had gone wrong. We were driving home at about 9:30 when I decided I fancied a Pizza Express takeaway. We rang this restaurant and I half expected to be told it was too late for a takeaway etc. Instead a friendly voice took my order and said it would be ready in 10 mins.
We got slightly delayed in traffic so 20 mins later I arrived at the clean restaurant with nice decor. Since covid many restaurants are quite rude and almost act like they are doing you a favour by taking your order. This was the total opposite, I was warmly greeted by a friendly English blonde lady who gave me my order. An equally warm and friendly blonde Eastern European lady then came over and asked if I wanted my pizza sliced incase I wanted to eat it in the car etc. Was very impressed with the customer service.
I got the pizza and calamari ring starter home. I'd been late picking it up due to traffic and fully expected pizza to be cold etc. It wasnt. The calamari had a full tub of sauce with lemon, just as youd get in restaurant. The pizza was absolutely superb!
I stuck Die Hard on and tucked in and suddenly my day seemed so much better :) I'd ordered extra nduja sausage on my American and theyd been really generous with the topping. Romana bases are stretched thin and can often be a bit dry. This pizza was really moist and had plenty of puree and cheese etc. Despite my being late picking it up it was still hot. Best one ive ever had from Pizza Express, I couldnt have been more impressed. I live a bit far from Ruislip restaurant but I will travel to get to this restaurant because it's far better than the one nearer me.
I hope they keep up this level of food and...
