Working locally and a team of us put an order in (individually to ensure nothing was forgotten but linked order details so the restaurant knew and could link delivery if they wanted but retain delivery price After initial order via their website they contacted on a random mobile number to say they don't deliver (bit odd as on Just Eat and their website it is an option) Explained it was an option and the voice on the phone said they would ring back They didn't I then got another phone call saying one of the extras wasn't available and they had no wings and needed to substitute Unfortunately all but one option I was allergic to (had noted on restaurant notes on Web order) Chose replacement and awaited the order The order was delivered by a separate company who I assume couldn't access the delivery notes. They initially asked us to meet us at a different gate (which we can't get to) so after a bit of faffing we managed to get them to come down to the next gate we'd specified Food wise it was okay. Rice was a little stodgy and the beef was quite tough Korean BBQ sauce was nice and veg was relatively nice I ended up sharing mine as the other order from our party made 10 minutes prior to mine was a colossal mess up It did not arrive My party waited for nearly 2 hours constantly phoning the restaurant to assess the problem The delivery company blocked my friends number The restaurant kept saying it was on way and the driver was near I phoned several times to ask them to contact the driver (they kept telling us to contact and giving random numbers) we'd bought the good from pokie and roll and they had zero idea where it was, we couldn't get hold of the drivers, P&R had zero inclination to follow it up The service agent in the restaurant didn't know what to do, wasn't particularly helpful and couldn't see to make any decision without his boss who was not present and would not send out a replacement order They offered a refund which has not happened or been processed and there was no contact from the restaurant to follow up Pretty useless service. Seem to be a mixed bag of reviews here and some of the negatives I do agree with, but for the price I was actually very happy. I will explain further.

Was round a friends house in Kingston and whilst deciding what to have for our take out this was suggested, we weren’t feeling a greasy Indian or a sugary Chinese so this sounding like a good option.

Half the fun was choosing what was in your bowl, I went Large and for the extra £2 I’d say it was a good option, the portion was only marginally bigger but you got to choose 4 main meats instead of 2 which I enjoyed.

I had noodles with greens as my base, prawns, tuna, beef and chilli chicken as my mains, and then there are many other options I won’t bore you with.

One though was the broccoli and my mate said after had I told him I went for broccoli he would have warned me off, and I am now warning you off, it was very cold and the only word to describe it is soggy.

I chose to have mine warm instead of cold and that is what you get Warm, don’t expect a hot meal here, but you wouldn’t want that anyway with raw tuna on top.

It was full of flavour, the beef was a little tough and dry but mixed with all the goodies like edamame beans and wasabi Mayo it didn’t detract.

We ordered off Deliveroo, so I don’t know if this makes a difference, we waited a while for it to come, but it came bang on the time they said from the outset.

I couldn’t have this to often, but it made such a difference to have something different for a treat take out meal.

Despite all the minor negatives I wouldn’t knock a star off as it was tasty, on time and a great new experience.

A couple of weekends ago, I stumbled upon Pokie & Roll, a delightful Japanese Fusion Poke Bowl restaurant in Kingston, which turned out to be an unexpected highlight of my evening. After discovering that the kitchen at the neighboring pub had already closed post 9pm and with my stomach growling louder than the music next door, I was in dire need of a quick, satisfying meal. Thankfully, the security at the pub recommended Pokie & Roll, just as they were about to close for the night. At first glance, seeing the staff tidying up, I was hesitant. But to my surprise, they were incredibly welcoming. Upon request from the security, a staff member named Abs graciously reopened the salad bar and consulted with the kitchen. Moments later, they prepared a delicious crispy chicken katsu curry bowl with a side of fresh salad. Abs was particularly friendly and helpful, offering recommendations without rushing me, ensuring my meal was exactly what I needed. The bowl was not only a lifesaver but genuinely delicious—a true testament to the quality and freshness of their food. The kindness and flexibility of Abs and the rest of the staff at Pokie & Roll turned a simple meal into a memorable part of my night.
