Pret A Manger — Restaurant in London

I go to Pret mostly for breakfast, I think their baked goods are very well made and I enjoy the classic porridge which is overpriced in my opinion (maybe it's made with Unicorn milk, who knows).

I rarely go to Pret for lunch because I don't enjoy their lunch menu, however I do appreciate the fact that there are a lot of options for vegetarians.

I'm not impressed with their drinks menu, I tried a smoothie once and I wish I didn't bother (Note - I don't drink coffee). I prefer going to Costa for hot and cold drinks.

I also don't like the way they store their disposable cutlery.

I have been going to Pret for many years and generally the customer service is average to good but today (5th Sept 2018) the service was poor. I went into one of my local branches, 240 Blackfriars Road (I literally have a choice of five Prets within a 2 mile radius) and informed the "barista" that my porridge purchased the day before was cold. He looks at me blankly (he was clearly a new member of staff) so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager is called and I wait 5 minutes, she appears and then immediately gets on the till and starts serving other customers, another 5 minutes passes then she realises I'm the reason that she came to the "shop floor". She offerred me a complimentary porridge and drink and apologised for the miscommunication, which wouldn't have happened if the other two employees who were aware of the situation gave a damn.

Update 6th Sept 2018 So I return to this Pret the next day for porridge at 10:20 and they don't have any and I'm told I have to wait a whole 15 minutes before the next batch...

Went there early on a Monday morning just after it had opened. The place is filthy dirty whilst it is not opened at the weekend we were there just after it had opened and was quite clear had not been cleaned for a while. The floors were sticky to walk on the tables were dirty even the area where the sugars were was not clean. Pret management need to do some spot checks on this place it’s needs someone...

Disgusting behaviour from staff Jose - this is the worse person to be serving food in a restaurant they need to look into the CCTV and see how he’s treating the customers, he was being rude to the guy before me too! This guy needs to be sacked! Gives me a meatball wrap when I specifically said I’m vegetarian, then when I confront him he has the audacity to say that all he has when there’s plenty...
