The night was supposed to be special as it was not only the first valentines with my partner but also her birthday. When emailing about her birthday and the availability for a cake or similar this was coldly ignored and I just received an email back from the reservations manager that the deposit had been received. No response or acknowledgment of my request (even if it wasn’t possible). This should have been a warning sign on things to come. When arriving on the night we were walked to our table, and once sat realised our table was very wobbly - not the tolerable kind. We waited 20 minutes before my partner - on her birthday - had to go up to the front desk to report this and also ask for someone to even come and serve us water… about 5 minutes after returning from the front desk the server came and simply asked us “are you ready to order” without any greeting, we informed them that we haven’t even had water yet. The manager came to see us shortly after and tried to fix the table and kindly gift us a glass of bubbly each. The table still wasn’t fixed, I myself tried to fix it and then we had to get up to report this again, to which we were told someone would return which they never did. After waiting ridiculously long time to receive our starters we realized we were not severed our first course (amuse) and of course had to seek out help to report this again. No one checked in on us during the starter or main. We had one check in after our starter. Every interaction with waiting staff had to be sought after, I’ve never been one to complain and it pains me to write this but it was a horrible experience on a day that was supposed to be so special. After eating our lukewarm mains, a manager came to ask how we were and my partner had to let out her frustrations. With 10 minutes left of the set being performed we were seated at the front - which was nice for 10 minutes while having dessert - before having to wait again for 30 minutes to get the bill. My partner was ignored by everyone so she had to get up again to try and find some help. When we received the bill the deposit wasn’t removed, and indeed, the above average 15% service charge was left on that we had to ask to ask to be removed. Normally we are all for tipping above the average and we felt so embarrassed having to ask for this to be removed but it was the worst night I could have imagined. Also the man (I think one of the managers) when taking payment was rude and actually, scoffed at us. I would have taken more photos and videos but alas we just didn’t even get time to enjoy ourselves and have proper wine and drinks with our meal (as no one would check on us) it just felt like 3 hours of having to tolerate a dreadful service while waiting for food.

Overall great value | Entertainment - Fantastic | Food - good | setting - luxurious | staff - a mix of friendly & professional Attended on Wednesday evening 30th Sept after a recommendation from RIAH Events Planners. Entertainment was just cracking. The whole band had a great presence. The singing was brilliant, effortless and yet filled with passion and enthusiasm. I really enjoyed the stream of new & old hits covered. Her voice complimented every song. Food was very good. We had the 3 course set menu for £38, reduced to £30 for a special Sept deal. Excellent excellent value with the reduction. My onion truffle veloute (soup) starter was something special and full of delicious tastes; my dining companions found their salmon starter just nice, but not mind blowing. I tasted theirs and it was enjoyable but I was glad for my amazing soup. The main, pumpkin risotto, was lovely with interesting seasoning and great textures. Not your standard risotto dish, by any means. Again, my companions enjoyed their Seabreem main but said it was nothing to rave about. Desserts - I rarely say this about a restaurant but the desserts stole the show (I'll upload photos)! They were well thought out with a variety of textures and flavours to explore. The shortbread and apple fromage was inspired and like nothing I've sampled elsewhere. I found myself disappointed with my cheese plate, wishing I'd chosen one of the same desserts eaten by my companions. Mine lacked the imagination and creativity that was so obviously present in the other dishes. That said, who doesn't love a slab of quality goats cheese with some delicious chutney and a couple of biscuits. Overall I wasn't going to complain when the entire meal, plus a delightfully refreshing glass of sparkling wine, cost only £30 each! Really incredible value. The art deco setting was gorgeous, photos included. I honestly couldn't have wanted for more. Perfect warm lighting, spacious with high ceilings but not echoey or cold. Just perfect. The setting is a other thing that just makes it such fantastic value for money, even at the original price of £38. Stunningly designed. I'm no interior design expert, but clearly someone knew what they were doing! The staff were lovely and friendly whilst professional. However, the service felt disorganised and chaotic, as though they were understaffed. Plus, I lost count of the number of different staff that served us. Personally, I prefer a more streamlined experience but on the plus side, it did show me that all the waiting staff were pleasant and had that perfect friendly / professional balance. So a big thumbs up for the individual staff members. Well done if you made it all the way through this review.

We came here for a celebration dinner for our first outing since having our first baby / getting engaged. We were very excited having heard excellent reviews, unfortunately the experience was a let down and has given us pause to return in the future or recommend this restaurant to anyone else. The atmosphere on arrival was nice, with a luxury vibe. We were taken to an amazing table near the stage, and the first two waiters we encountered were everything you would expect and more! We ordered bread for the table and our starters / mains. Unfortunately the bread arrived after both starters were finished. Our mains arrived shortly afterwards, and this is where things went horrifically wrong for the evening. My partner had ordered a medium - rare Sirloin steak... unfortunately what arrived was well done at best, and cremated at worst. We called over a waiter and advised him of such, whom walked over to another waitress / waiter whom had been collecting plates from our table previously. They ignored him. My partner then had to call them over again, and they did not come over. We finally managed to catch one of the first 'higher ranking' waiters, whom apologised and took the plate away. Five minutes went by and I saw the returning steak come out of the kitchen, walk around the restaurant as the waiter did not know what table it was for, go and ask another waiter, who did not know - and so the steak was put down in the corner of the room!!! A few minutes pass and the first higher ranking waiter started asking around as to where the steak was, and only once I pointed out the steak they were looking for was sat in the corner of the room, did it go and get retrieved. Unfortunately this steak was still medium and not medium rare (not an ounce of 'blood' came from the steak). Whilst the waiter did offer to have the steak redone for the third time, my partner declined as my meal was now getting cold and the alternative was eating without him. The waiter then unfortunately started arguing with my partner as "that was how the chef here cooked a medium rare steak"...

It was unfortunate that we experienced this with our steak, as the rest of the food was amazing. Beautifully presented, and everything tasted great.

The aforementioned waitress was unfortunately useless, for want of a better word. Not only with our table, but we witnessed her pouring the table infront of us' expensive bottle of champagne, into a wine glass. The gentleman resorted to stopping her from pouring any more and sending her away. We were left feeling like pariahs after the steak incident, as there was no real service after this. Our bottle of wine was finished and the waiter just took the empty bottle away without asking if we would like anything extra (which we probably would have ordered another bottle), we also would have ordered digestifs, had there been someone around we could order from. At times service was also incredibly slow and so we decided not to order anything additional when the desert arrived, as we would have undoubtedly finished the course and been left waiting still when any drinks arrived.

We were greatful to have both the steak taken off the bill, and a desert for free as a goodwill gesture. However, the service was certainly sub par for such a restaurant, which drastically affected our evening!

However, to end on a good note, the band were amazing and created a good atmosphere! We would have returned for a later booking to experience more of the music side of the business, maybe just for...

So we have been a few times before and each occasion has been amazing… however… today… absolutely terrible from start to finish…

Booked a table for 4pm…. Was called to say we needed to order food for 4.15 as kitchen closed and if any of our party was late then we should screen shot the menu and send it to them

Arrived at 4.00pm and was told the same thing so I asked because of the kitchen closure would we be rushed through and we were told not at all.. just kitchen that’s all… showed your table which was fab and very comfortable.

Got the menu which was different to the menu we had booked but was told that was the only menu they did so that was fine .. perused the menu for about 10 mins and then we were told that the roast of the day which was chicken wasn’t available. All 4 of our party was opting for the chicken so we were disappointed but after the waiter came back to us he told us that a turkey option had become available. I asked whether this was turkey breast and he said yes

Anyway the starters arrived in about 8 mins which were ok and then as they cleared the starter plates the main course arrived. 2 of us ordered the turkey which came with a pork stuffing centre and wrapped in bacon which was different to what had been described. It also came barely look warm… everything was just slightly warm.. I explained this to the waiter and because they look at you as if tour lieing placed some of the vegetables in his hand so he could feel they were cold. He took the plate away and then 3 mins later the manager came back with the plate that is sent back asking what I would like doing with it.

I explained about the turkey and that I didn’t eat pork or bacon and he said that had been described to me before I ordered which it hadn’t otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered it and then said how cold the food was.. he then said “well it is now!” At this point he crossed the line and became rude and insulting.. I wouldn’t send food back saying it’s cold if it wasn’t and in fairness I was starving so had it of been acceptable I would have eaten..: anyway he couldn’t offer me any other main course so I said in reluctance that I would just have the vegetables of the roast dinner as long as they were hot.he then took the plate away and after thinking about it and looking at my partners plate who had left his already because it was fold inside to the waiter not to bother as I’d had enough grief and agro and the other .w guests were happy with there’s so just wanted them to finish and leave and go somewhere else for food..: anyway that message never transpired and the manager bought me a plate of roasted veg which I have to say were hot and tasty.

I asked for the bill and the manager had already taken my food off which was appreciated but I have to say after coveting this place about 10 weeks ago it was a completely different experience and the food shocking.

It was busy don’t get me wrong but it’s also not cheap so you expect a level of service and quality and it really fell short today and the manager didn’t deal with the situation well and like I said we have been few times before and been really impressed… not today I’m Afraid…...
