So far, I have been to this shop twice on the recommendation of a good friend and I have yet to be truly disappointed. The staff have an excellent knowledge of cigars and are incredibly helpful and the range of cigars, pipes sand pipe tobacco means that anyone can find a favourite. On my most recent visit, I met Martin and Alberto, having already met Eddy on my first visit. They were incredibly helpful, especially in accommodating my wheelchair. I was able to access the walk in humidor and see the range that they stock. I was also informed that due to an exemption, I would be able to sample one of my cigars there so that is what I did. The cigar was truly excellent, having been picked by an employee to ensure that it would have a good draw. After smoking for a little while, a female employee whose name I don't know came to me to tell me that I shouldn't be staying there for that long. She said that in future I should go elsewhere to a cigar lounge at the Bulgari Hotel. Being hurried along is fine when there is a good reason for it, but as far as I could tell, there was no one else wanting to sit in the chair that I was taking up and I couldn't exactly leave the place while still smoking the cigar since my wheelchair relies on my hands being free. Also, it was raining quite heavily at this point. I left the rest of my cigar, said my goodbyes and left. I'm sure that this won't put me off visiting again, as I am searching for the perfect pipe tobacco to suit me, but I might be a little uncomfortable with sampling cigars there in future. Otherwise, I was very happy. The staff, especially Alberto, Leo, and Martin, were all...
Read moreI was introduced to this store via YouTube research and upon being there, my overall grade for this store is: A
If you've read my review on Biggs Cigar Mansion in Chicago, this place is on par with the selection and quality of their products. Their selection of fine cigars from all over the world is excellent. The store is immaculate and the location is perfect for those that are shopping in central London.
The employees know their cigars and can speak to every type of cigar smoker.
According to YouTube, there are 2 chairs where one can smoke a cigar. At the time, they were both empty, and when I inquired about enjoying my cigar there, I was told that due to COVID, no one was allowed to smoke in the store. So instead, I took my cigar outside to the cafe next door and enjoyed my cigar there - no problem.
The only curious thing is that since I was in the area for 1 week straight, there were at least 2 times when I walked past the store and saw people smoking inside the store in those 2 chairs. Hmm...
The only reason I did not give this store an A+ rating, is due to my inability to enjoy my cigar in what I understood were the cigar smoking friendly chairs. Maybe next time.
I did find an indoor location to enjoy cigars, within a couple of hundred meters - the Ritz Cigar Lounge just around the corner - look for my review on that.
If you enjoy cigars or have someone in your life that does, you will do very well by visiting this store. It's a...
