Venchi Chocolate & Gelato Piccadilly — Restaurant in London

I went to the Venchi Piccadilly-St’james in Sat 25 Nov 2023. around 19.45 I bought and order Hot Chocolate but when i saw the interesting gelato favor I ask the staff (women look adult) if i can taste the gelato even I’d just ordered the hot chocolate. As a customer who work in service industry, I kindly asked her and give her a smile to tasted the interesting gelato favor. She read my bill and show the unexpected expression by saying you order hot chocolate and unfriendly look at me. At fist I though that she just kidding but she kept looking at me unfriendly and it made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. I tried to see her name on the badged but it shows a training. I knew it might be her tried or hard working day but as a human to human. I did not pretend sassily to her. I asked her and showed her respect by saying please and thank you. I really dont care that she working as a staff but the way I spoke to her. I showed my respect. This is unacceptable as a service staff. I went there i paid for hot chocolate but after testing the gelato, i might order it after I tasted it but the way she looked at me made me decide not to buy.I dont want you to fired her but i hope she got notice about this. The shop is Beuatiful.

Sadly , the chocolate is not. Being a Michelin restaurant advocate I tried the Industry standard test of a Companys plain Milk Chocolate bar and drink.

The Chocolate itself seemed very light, like no 'heft' or weight to the bar or snap.

Then the taste: washed out and Milky.

I was very surprised, trying to find notes but the chocolate was too bland and flat for that. Totally lacked intensity.

That's a drawback I cannot excuse, you *have to be delivering Rich, bean to bar Gourmet cocoa at this Price point.

Its far away from even mainstream Hotel Chocolate offerings. And laughable, nothing next to leading Companies like Valrhona or Neuhaus.

And is it cheap? Heh, this is more expen$ive than even Rococo's bars, at £6!!

The Hot chocolate was a litte better than the Bar , but this time it was far too strong, with no balance to the bitter. The top with sweet cream was the only good part.
