Now I am not sure where all the clientele come from here, they seem like 80's yuppies. Took me a while to attract the attention of the bar staff. The place is quite noisy and not the most comfortable of pubs. It is located in the trendy end of Walthamstow in the village itself, half close your eyes and you could almost mistake the village for Hampstead....open them again and...no not quite there, but not bad. Food was OK, my burger was a little too smokey for me but luckily the Labrador other half finished it off no problem. That's what friends are for. Gentrification has arrived in Walthamstow.

We've been in this place after covid and everytime was absolutely busy. This time, was after dinner, late night and we found a seat inside on the sofa. Staff is lovely(except for the guy that serves me at the bar, twisting a Guinnes with a straw, then he overcharge me and I've been insulted that i was maybe too drunk to drink instead of apologise but anyway, Idid cause im a manager in a pub too so I know what kindness mean and how to behave, i guess... ). Except for that, loved the atmosphere here and food is amazing. Not sure about the way you've been treat by some of the staff or owner 😅

Fantastic food and wonderful service. The roast was great: both the rare roast beef and the sea bass option. The scotch egg was also delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding. The kids rigatoni and cheese sauce was tasty and they serve kid portions of roast (half adult portion) if you have small ones. We had a minor issue (small piece of plastic in a scoop of ice cream) which the manager quickly addressed; she even comped our dessert despite telling her we understand mistakes happen.

Came here on a Sunday a few weeks ago with 3x other adult friends at 1:45pm and refused service for no reasonable reason. Disappointing experience and completely lost confidence and trust in management.

We arrived at the pub, asked to sit in the garden for lunch, and told to go ahead. Five minutes later when no one had come to our table, we went to ask for menus and were told they couldn't serve us lunch.

The pub was over half empty. There were people eating. More than half the tables in the dining area had reserved signs on them, but it was quiet for a Sunday.

When I asked why they couldn't serve us – very confusing given people around us were eating – the server stumbled through an answer and deferred to a manager. The manager said something about "only accepting a limited number of walk-ins on top of bookings as part of our commitment to low waste".

So you're telling me you can't accommodate a full pub on a Sunday at lunch? Sounds to me like they had a problem with resourcing / the kitchen and instead of coming up with a plan they fed us with lies.

There were so many alternative solutions to them turning us away entirely. A better run pub would've provided limited options from a menu, or been upfront and told us as soon as we got there was an issue and they couldn't do food. I'd have respected the honesty far more.

But letting us sit there and then turning us away entirely under the guise of waste management, and suggesting we're at fault for not booking a table? Appalling customer service.

Really disappointing experience and not what I'd expect from a neighbourhood pub that surely relies on...

I have never written a review before but after what happened yesterday I feel the need to after the Queens Arms landlord was very rude and quite frankly aggressive towards two mums with their two babies in pushchairs both aged one years old.

Not only was he argumentative, but shouted at us for “not knowing the rules”, when we were told by his colleague that we were ok to sit inside but then told by this landlord to move immediately outside.

He labelled the food my one year old had dropped on the floor as "disgusting" when I had not had the chance to clean it up after we were told to go sit outside which we did, I had left my pram indoors where we were previously sitting and went inside and cleaned up the mess he had left after I had finished feeding my son.

Appreciate it is annoying for babies to drop things but that is what they do and for a family friendly pub to label this as “disgusting” by the landlord is pretty upsetting. To add to this, he did not help my friend who was clearly struggling with her pram to get where he had told us to go.

When we were leaving we did complain to his colleagues (who must be said were very kind and accommodating) but then the landlord came over again for another aggressive dispute with us.

We appreciate everyone is stressed and businesses are finding it hard, we had gone to support this local business and have a very rare drink at a pub due to lockdown dominating the majority of our babies lives and were just trying to enjoy a quiet drink. For the landlord to behave in the way he did left us both in tears as his colleague tried to calm the situation. Very...

We have eaten in this pub/ restaurant on a few occasions and have stopped in here for a few drinks before heading onwards. We have enjoyed eating/drinking here until we visited on a Friday evening and sat down for dinner. We ordered our food - Chicken Breast and Fillet Sea Bass and some more drinks. We waited for what we thought was 25 minutes and asked the barman for an update on the food as we had other commitments. When he returned he stated that we had infact ordered our food 35 minutes ago and the chicken breast needs around 30 minutes to cook and it wouldn't be ready for another 10-15 minutes, although he did add that the Sea Bass could be eaten now as it was already cooked and waiting for the chicken. One dinner now and the other dinner in 15 minutes?!? So if the food had been brought out together the Sea Bass would be very overcooked or cold. We asked for our money back and was told that we couldn't have it as the SeaBass was ready! The barman was very rude and arrogant and when we asked for the Manager it turned out to be him. We eventually got our money back and was told not to come back by the very rude Manager. Very abrupt Manager and...
