Local 117 year old established snack bar.

The decor is very very plain, the quality of service & the food is okay, the sandwiches & rolls are good in comparison & their prices were always very fair until 2024 in comparison with the local competition but then periodically throughout 2024 & this year 25 have begun to regularly put their prices up every two to three months.

They are a cash only establishment & due to this choice they lose out on a lot of business both on the phone & in person custom.

Different generations of locals have used it on a regular basis for decades but now a lot of the custom are no longer returning at all & choosing to go elsewhere, the two brothers are polite, nice, professional up to a point, comical & down to earth people, but unfortunately will not change or modernise at all, as if they're both stuck in 1970's time bubble 'Living in the Past.

Since the beginning of 2024 their own created non-regulated tariffs on both food & drinks consumed sitting down in the snack bar are high & damaging their past good name & reputation, example .50p on top of the price of any can or bottle of drink if drunk sitting down in the snack bar.

Their sandwiches & rolls are all made to order, ALL the fillings ALL unhygienically handled by their bare unprotected hands/fingers that constantly handle cash & touching many other things, they do not use tongs at all to pick up the foods ALL foods are picked up from the containers & placed into the sandwiches &...

I've been using this Café since I was a small child. It doesn't matter if you are a regular visitor or if it's your first time you are always welcome with a smile and a decent cup of tea/coffee. Gino, Michael and the other staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Open from 7am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday Well worth a visit and the sandwiches are always done fresh as you order so no stale or soggy bread, just good food at...

Here we feel like at home...Very friendly persons coming here to eat and very friendly persons work over there... We went several days for very individual prizes...good prizes!
