I have been here a few times years ago when I lived in Shepherds Bush. Today we picked up some takeaway food. It was even more delicious than I remember! The staff are very friendly and helpful on the phone and at the counter. Guessing it is probably still a family-owned business. We ordered a small Red Sea Special platter and a side of Lamb Fitfit (lamb chunks, chili, tomato and injera). The packaging for the special platter was excellently done. Small containers for each of the different meat dishes, rice and salad. Then a plastic container for the chicken and egg, and a separate container for the vegeables including lentils, carrots, beans, spinach and potatoes. We received 3 full injera which was very generous. We had a delicious and flavourful lunch and can't wait to eat the perfectly spiced leftovers for dinner! Very large portions too so great value for money. Thanks for making our Sunday!

Starting off with the service; approached upon entry and welcomed us in enquiring how many persons for the meal and seated us accordingly. Provided us with menus and made a number of recommendations upon request. Explained what was on the menu when asked. The portions were great. The rice was fragrant, the meat was soft and pretty much falling off the bone. Food tasted fresh and full of flavour. Ordered lemon juice/lime juice. Absolutely delicious and complimentary to the meal! By far the best restaurant I've visited in the past few years! Highly recommend.

We ordered the well known dish (pictured) which is a very large flatbread (injera) served with multiple types of meat, chicken, vegetable and lentil stews. The flatbread is quite different from any other - it is wet, soft, and spongey and may not be to everyone's preference. Some of the stews were fantastic with a deep flavour and soft tender meat. On the side we had the lentil soup, which was standard though pleasant. We also had a small aubergine dish (moussakaat) which came served with a naan-like flatbread and was fantastic.

We might have been unlucky but the food we ordered was poor. 'chopped' beef turned out to be dry, grainy mince, and what was described in the menu as 'bread' were actually 'injera': sour, tangy pancakes. I'm not sure what they are meant to be like, but these had a jelly-like texture. One of the two dishes we ordered was meant to be a stew mixed with pieces of injera, but could be more accurately described as a tray of wet, wobbly, sour shredded pancakes with a few lumps of hard lamb in. If that floats your boat, you're in for a treat as the portion was quite large. The grainy beef came in a small tray, topped with a spoonful of liquid cheese and a wad of the same gelatinous, fermented pancakes. We're pretty adventurous, but we found both inedible. I called them and spoke to the manager, who at first told me that that's just the way the food is supposed to be. I pointed out that neither the descriptions on the menus nor the waitress accurately described the food and he was kind enough to give us a refund. So it turns out that injera is not to everyone's taste. But I would also say that there is no way that what we bought was worth £13 each: even if we had enjoyed the injera, the other ingredients were of low quality, and the Lebanese bakery nearby sells the same grainy mince in large pasties for £2. Nice staff, but I still can't give this place more...

Outstanding Catering from Red Sea for Our Son’s Baptism!

We recently celebrated our son’s baptism, and the catering provided by Red Sea Restaurant was nothing short of amazing. Their exceptional service and delicious food truly made our event unforgettable.

The menu was a highlight of the day. Every dish was bursting with flavor, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main dishes and desserts, each item received glowing compliments from our guests. The variety they offered ensured that everyone, regardless of dietary preferences, had something to enjoy.

The catering team was professional, efficient, and incredibly accommodating. They arrived on time, set everything up perfectly, and ensured that food was replenished throughout the event. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor made the process stress-free for us.

The presentation of the food was impeccable, adding an extra touch of elegance to our celebration. It was evident that the team at Red Sea takes great pride in their work, and it showed in every aspect of the service.

We couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience. Red Sea Restaurant exceeded our expectations and helped make our son’s baptism a truly memorable occasion. If you’re looking for exceptional catering for your special event, we highly...

Charcoal grill chicken with rice and side of Moussakat Batinjan which comprised of deliciously fried aubergine with tomato sauce, onion and chick peas; a very splendid variation of flavours. The chicken was flavoured but was slightly on the dry side and rice wasn't too flavoursome either. Nevertheless, the Moussakat came to the rescue and as it is similar to a curry, it diffused the dryness and made it more appealing to my plate. I do feel that without the side I would have struggled with my food. Their bread is also a popular addition to have and the lemon and mint drink too which is refreshingly delightful. . The main was £7.50 and the side was £4 which I thought was reasonable. . The service was on point and the food arrived without delay. When you are served by genuine and friendly staff, it's always a nice experience. . . The restaurant had a traditional African theme to it with fine artefacts hanging off the wall which adds an interesting character to the restaurant. . 📋 Food Standards Agency...
