We might have been unlucky but the food we ordered was poor. 'chopped' beef turned out to be dry, grainy mince, and what was described in the menu as 'bread' were actually 'injera': sour, tangy pancakes. I'm not sure what they are meant to be like, but these had a jelly-like texture. One of the two dishes we ordered was meant to be a stew mixed with pieces of injera, but could be more accurately described as a tray of wet, wobbly, sour shredded pancakes with a few lumps of hard lamb in. If that floats your boat, you're in for a treat as the portion was quite large. The grainy beef came in a small tray, topped with a spoonful of liquid cheese and a wad of the same gelatinous, fermented pancakes. We're pretty adventurous, but we found both inedible. I called them and spoke to the manager, who at first told me that that's just the way the food is supposed to be. I pointed out that neither the descriptions on the menus nor the waitress accurately described the food and he was kind enough to give us a refund. So it turns out that injera is not to everyone's taste. But I would also say that there is no way that what we bought was worth £13 each: even if we had enjoyed the injera, the other ingredients were of low quality, and the Lebanese bakery nearby sells the same grainy mince in large pasties for £2. Nice staff, but I still can't give this place more...

Read moreCharcoal grill chicken with rice and side of Moussakat Batinjan which comprised of deliciously fried aubergine with tomato sauce, onion and chick peas; a very splendid variation of flavours. The chicken was flavoured but was slightly on the dry side and rice wasn't too flavoursome either. Nevertheless, the Moussakat came to the rescue and as it is similar to a curry, it diffused the dryness and made it more appealing to my plate. I do feel that without the side I would have struggled with my food. Their bread is also a popular addition to have and the lemon and mint drink too which is refreshingly delightful. . The main was £7.50 and the side was £4 which I thought was reasonable. . The service was on point and the food arrived without delay. When you are served by genuine and friendly staff, it's always a nice experience. . . The restaurant had a traditional African theme to it with fine artefacts hanging off the wall which adds an interesting character to the restaurant. . 📋 Food Standards Agency...
