Rio's Piri Piri — Restaurant in London

I’ve regularly ordered from Rio’s Peri Peri through Uber Eats, but this experience with their Wembley branch was unbelievably bad and unprofessional.

I ordered directly through their app, and the food took nearly 2 hours to arrive. They said they only had one delivery driver who was busy delivering multiple orders. When the food finally arrived, I poured the garlic sauce (as usual) all over my chicken and rice only to realise it was off. It had a warm, sour taste.

I called to let them know, and they said they would send a replacement. I also ordered water, but they gave me Pepsi — which I can’t drink. When I complained, the driver handed me a big, warm Asda water bottle from his boot — clearly not from the restaurant, but I took it to be polite.

After about 30 minutes, the driver returned with small pot of garlic sauce and a small bottle of water. I called the restaurant again, and told them i wanted a fresh meal my chicken and rice had been spoiled and was not edible and this time they started gaslighting me — saying the sauce was fresh, it couldn’t be off, and I was asking for “too much” because they “won’t make any money.”

I asked the delivery driver to smell the old and new sauces — he made a disgusted face and even admitted it smelled off. He spoke to them in their language, and then told me they’d bring my money back. An hour later, I called again — they laughing at me, making jokes and hung up on me mutiple times, and even blocked my number. I had to call from a different phone.

Eventually, they told me I could only get my refund if I came to the shop, which I refused they said then no and hung up on me Then, just as I was about to leave to go there, they called and said someone would bring the money in 30 minutes. Over an hour later, the driver finally showed up but tried to only give me £12 out of the £18 I paid. He said i wasnr being fair and he needed money for his delivery fee i told him that it wasnt my fault and the restuarant needed to pay him not me as i didnt even get a safe clean meal he literally wouldnt give me the money i had to get my brother involved to sort it.

The driver demanded I return both bottles of water, the garlic sauce, and the chicken and rice box. I gave it all back. he then proceded to ring my door bell so many times and come to my window asking for the pepsi my brother told him to move from the window and he then left.

Throughout all this, every single staff member I spoke to was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional — swearing at me, blaming me, literally gaslighting me and doing everything to avoid taking responsibility. They even mocked me on the phone.

Avoid this branch at all costs. They don’t care about customer service, food safety, or basic respect. I will never be ordering from Rio’s Peri Peri...

I came to Rio's due to a glowing recommendation. I'm a huge fan of well marinated grilled chicken so I thought it would be worth checking out. Upon entering the shop, I was hit by sharp, harsh lighting and very loud 90s Bollywood music, however decent decor for a fast food place. Most of the booth seats were damaged however we managed to find a booth that wasn't. Staff were very friendly and helpful when taking my order and took instructions head on. We ordered a chicken strips and double chicken burger meal. The burger was delightful however forgot to add the jalapenos. The chicken strips were medium burnt and covered up with lots of sauce! I did request it to be saucy however I felt they overcompensated with the sauce due to the burns on the chicken, as it was very very saucy. I wasn't able to finish my chicken as the sauce got quite overbearing and left me with some heartburn. Chips were to standard for a fast food place. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to my chicken being burnt with way too much marinade sauce and the lighting and general atmosphere of the place, however I would come here again! Also the toilets were clean and they gave us wet wipes which in my opinion are very important with this...

This place was my go to until I realised I was being charged a different price depending on who served me. Instead of rectifying the issue they simply shrug there shoulder and look around at each other. Regardless of this I continued to visit the shop and when I went to pay for my order they’ve told me a diferente price as to what’s on the window so I questioned them and they said well if you don’t say you want that one from the window you’ll be charged normal price… I said what? The food is the same but if the person isn’t aware of the “lunch” price they’ll be charged more? Robbery to me. Also another thing that shows how greedy this place is.. when you eat in you get salad with your meal for no extra cost but if your taking out suddenly the meal changes to no salad..? This place gives weird vibes unless you’re of the same culture they are RUDE and always frowning.
