Route 66 — Restaurant in London

Ordered 3 milkshakes and a popcorn chicken kids meal and jalapeño poppers. We called the first time about 45 minutes after ordering (they are a 3 minute drive from the house) and we were told that due to an accident the road is blocked but our food is ready and is leaving now. Called again 20 minutes later. They said that the food is on the way. They then called us and asked if we were number 34 we explained that’s the wrong door number, they told us that it was not our order anyway and they don’t know where our order is. We then called again 10 minutes later and they told us the order is on the way. 10 minutes later still nothing and we called again (by this time my 1 year old and 2 year old were crying because they were so hungry and we made . this clearthen received no answer. We called continuously for the next 20 minutes with no answer. I then sent a text message to ask if we will at least be receiving the food so I can get my children from food elsewhere. I received a text back saying ‘2 mins’ we then received our food 1 hour and 45 minutes later. To their credit they gave us 2 portions of extra fries, however the chicken popcorn kids meal was a very dry chicken fillet piece cut up. The jalapeño poppers were mozzarella sticks and the Oreo milkshake and ferrero Roche milkshake were walls ice cream with such finely blended chocolate/Oreo pieces that you couldn’t even taste it. They lied during the entire experience then just avoided our calls. Would definitely avoid them, will never be ordering from them again - you will note similar...

Food is awesome, second to none, I regularly eat there, only annoying thing is the staff, no offence, but are really hard to communicate with over the phone and speak quite broken english, and when you ask them to leave something out/put something in, half the time they forget.

Reasonably priced food, however the price for the same meal does tend to fluctuate, one day youll pay a fiver, the next a tenner..

Once again tho, food wise, can't fault them for taste, freshness and quality.

UPDATE: today had a delivery driver who as he left, decided to tell me that the price has always been more but have been doing me a wrap with chilli con carne in it, and charging me less as a favour and that today would be the last time they did it although this was the first ive heard of it being a favour as ive ordered the exact same meal multiple times for the same prices.. he said it in quite a rude way because I was annoyed at having to pay an extra £3 for what I have every time.. having ordered probably atleast once a week from there since it opened, today will be the last, well done...

Do not go here if you are vegetarian.

The sides and vegetarian burgers are cooked in the same oil as the chicken.

Buns are toasted on the same griddle as the meat.

My experience while waiting for my first visit was seeing the vegetable burgers I ordered placed on the griddle on top of some bacon, which it became stuck to. The bacon was then removed and I questioned as to whether they were my burgers.

I complained that I didn't want it them as the veg burgers were mixed with the meat, and the staff member said that I was in the wrong for not informing them that I am vegetarian.

More still he said that I should have said that I am vegan, in which case he could have made arrangements as such. Afterwards his colleague made it clear that it would not have made a difference as all the burgers and fries are all cooked in the same oil as the chicken, and I should have noticed that myself.

Thankfully they did give me a refund, but only after making me wait 5 minutes for that pleasure, citing that they had to wait for a manager to arrive...
