Mid morning on a wintery Saturday, the place was dead, no atmosphere, no heating, freezing cold, toilets were cold and hardly a dribble of freezing cold water from the hot tap, food was ok but expensive and they overcharged me, couldn’t be bothered to argue as just wanted to get out of there, and service without a smile.

The fried eggs were soggy and dripping with water, the 'fried slices' which I had never heard of in my life were similarly drenched in oil, the only borderline acceptable thing on display were the hash browns. After making a polite complaint about the food, the waitresses just stared at me. At any other respectable business I would expect them to take my food away and make it again, or offer a refund. Read moreI have often come here with my other half or my brought my mum here. It's a lovely little cafe with lovely staff in a relatively nice area. The people attending are generally older and tend to talk among themselves quietly. It's never been super busy, we have always been able to get a seat. The food is as you would expect from a greasy spoon cafe, but it is always cooked really well and tastes good. We have never had a bad experience here and fully intend to return multiple times.
