Chicken Experts Blackheath — Restaurant in London

It's early days yet but this is a worthy successor to John's. The staff are welcoming without being over-friendly and efficient at taking your order. Food is cooked quickly to a high standard and served piping hot, which is all you can ask for. The chicken is good - a fine, tasty dredge with good quality meat, though the chips do need another thirty seconds in the fryer. Well worth your time as its added a long-missing ingredient to this part of town: delicious fried chicken.

As for prices, they're perfect for the quality of the food, which is a far cry from the usual rubbish in such places. You should try for yourself, but if you see a 1* review, ignore it, and get you some good chicken.

Edit: 10 months later, they haven't missed a beat - food is still as fresh, hot and tasty as the day it opened. Might head up...

Delicious doner kebab. Like no other doner I have had before. Completely different texture and taste. The chilli sauce is very nice, not spicy, more sweet and goes really well with the meat. Salad was very nice and the pita was nice too. The guy was very chatty and friendly. The shop itself looks a bit terrible but dont let that put you off, we nearly didnt go in as it doesn't look nice. But seriously, you need to try this place. We will be back for more! Price is reasonable and on par with most kebab shops. I was a regular customer at Mr Kebabies and I miss John / Mehmet alot, but he has retired! I kind of wanted to be negative about the new business but I have to say on the two occasions I have bought food there, it has been pretty damn good! Just a couple of constructive criticisms:

I like my chicken quite moist, almost medium rare in steak terms! The second the meat has lost its pinkness, that is done for me. Maybe they could ask customers how they want their chicken cooked?

As someone who is trying to cut down on carbs, it would be good to have a meal option without fries and offering a really nice mixed...
