I used to be a regular since the opening of this coffee shop as it’s local to me and I love the coffee. However few days ago I have decided to try their hot food and I was beyond shocked by the lack of cleanliness and Food Hygine basics. The ā€˜chef’ just after finishing making some toastie for a takeaway client, wiped his hands with a dirty towel and came to serve me at the till. Soon after served a lady at the table with a pastry and wiped a table with a cloth for another customer. At this point I was just waiting for him to AT LEAST wash his hands before touching again the toastie but that DID NOT happen. I drunk my coffee and left without getting food as I was genuinely disgusted. I worked in hospitality for very long time and those are basics that cannot be forgotten. It wasn’t busy nor understaffed so that seems to be bad habit. It’s a shame as they have lots...

S.O.S coffee is a delightful retreat for coffee lovers. The aroma of freshly ground beans & smell of fresh pastries welcomes you, setting the stage for a memorable experience.

With dedication to excellence, each of thier baristas craft a cup with precision, from rich espressos to creamy lattes. The cosy atmosphere invites you to unwind and relax, whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying a moment alone.

What sets S.O.S apart is its sense of community, friendly staff and inviting vibes that make it a beloved local gem. For a taste of exceptional coffee and warm hospitality, I would recommend this place as a must-visit destination whether you’re a local or a tourist that want to explore...

An ok coffee shop with good drinks and food, but my wife had a bad experience where the server charged her wrong by around 30p and then made a fuss about this once she was sitting down with her drink after paying. He then said he'd refunded the transaction which we had to wait a while for and then charged her the slightly higher amount. This seems like bad service for such a petty amount. The shop should have just been responsible for their mistake. If it was a more significant amount then fine.

Outside of this experience we like the pastries, coffees and...

A great choice of spot in Blackheath Standard. The food is nice and cooked fresh, could do with being served on a plate, cutting toasted sourdough in a bowl is asking for trouble. The staff are very friendly and helpful. To help the atmosphere of the cafe, it could do with some soft furnishing, just takes one happy chatty table or a vocal baby to dominate the space. So bring your noise cancelling headphones. Don’t that put you off though, it’s just something the owners should consider.

Visited this cafe during a time when builders were in the house and I needed a place to work. The internet is good enough to hold video calls and doesn’t drop out which is great. Coffee was good but expensive for the amount received. The sourdough pastrami toastie was decent but not at all worth Ā£9. I’d probably only come here again to work if I had no option but I’d try to find somewhere else a bit more cost effective for pleasure.

Fantastic coffee, quick friendly service and delicious food! This is my favourite local cafe for good reason. The chorizo toasty with red pepper, pesto and Red Leicester is so good I can never bring myself to try the other toasties, even though they look great too! The cakes and pastries are also lovely. My only slight bugbear is the code-locked loo, which feels a tad unnecessary in a cafe like this.
