Royal India — Restaurant in London

Have been using Royal India formerly Cafe Raj since 1991. Tonight ordered our delivery was told was exceptionally busy so would be 1hr 20 mins. I made it very clear for it to be not much longer. Over 2 hrs had gone by and no sign or contact. I rang and the ignorant and rude fella told me it would be another 25mins. I tried to explain that I did want my order but he wouldn't let me talk. Unbelievably he put the phone down on me 😡 Amazingly a driver turned up after 2 and a half hours. My wife told the driver that we didn't want the meal as notified by phone. He came back 5 mins later and offered the meal at half price!! Really. This restaurant has always been so unorganised it's amazing how they've survived. Food maybe excellent but they do not care about their customers. There staff are rude and tonight I'd rather go somewhere else who wants our £57.00 consistent customer service will now go elsewhere. Best curry I've had in a long time at this price point. Four of us had a starter, 4 mains, 3 rice, Bombay aloo and paratha and 3 coffees afterwards and it was £20 per head inc tip! They don't have a licence so you can BYOB. I ordered a chicken madras but actually got a lamb madras in error. I'm normally reticent to order lamb dishes because they tend to be quite tough but this was very tender and absolutely delicious, in fact the madras flavour/heat was absolutely spot on and a delight for me. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and agreed we will be returning in the near future. They got my order wrong and told me to come to the restaurant myself to get it right as they were too busy. I told them it was their mistake and so I should not need to go to them but they should send the correct order to me by delivery. The manager refused and offered me free poppadoms for next time..... what a joke! I refused this pathetic offer and so he just put the phone down on me. Reading many of the reviews on here, seems like this rude behaviour and complete lack of customer service is an on-going problem. I did go back and demanded a refund.
